Went here for diner with my wife for our last night out for a little while as my job has me going back to New York for a few months. We got Sushi, Ramen, and a desert with our visit. This was my wife’s favorite sushi she has ever had and we both enjoyed the pork ramen we shared. The desert was good as well. The atmosphere was good and our waiter Chris was chill. I would recommend this place and encourage others to go so we can keep unique places like this in Bay City during these crazy times. Had a good experience and would return again.

Spicy tuna: 4/5 I’ve had spicier, but good and fresh
Izakaya roll:4.5/5 beautiful food. Just a little “mushy”
Seared albacore (special), not 100%sure BUT: 6/5
So fresh and delicious w pear reduction/sauce
Finally, Orange Crème Brûlée: 5/5 what a way to end the meal!
McKenna our server, 10/10! Super busy, but attentive!
Would like: full bar (Japanese whiskeys). Beers on draft!
If you’re at the bar have another sushi chef to take orders from bar patrons, small thing but a good touch

One of my favorite spots. The salmon belly roll is my go to. If you enjoy real sushi , the owner Roy , does some really nice quality specials as well. It’s a weekly stop for me , definitely worth it if you’re in the area.

A gem in Bay City, MI. Quality, quality, quality all around. The wait staff, the food, the atmosphere. We tried the scallops (scrumptious), the Coconut shrimp (to die for), the Fried Izakaya roll (off the hook). Also tried the Creme Brulee. You just can’t go wrong here. Everything is superb. If you like Sushi you will love this place. Presentation exquisite. An A+ addition to our little town.

Had an amazing dinner here with my wife for our anniversary. Everything we ordered was superb; the edamame was tender and well spiced, the salmon belly and fried izakaya rolls were among the best sushi I’ve ever had, the creme brulee was rich and torched just right, and their infused sake was uniquely tasty and fun to all try in a flight.
Outside of the food’s taste, our server was attentive and friendly, the head chef took time to personally visit our table, and the prices were quite competitive given the quality of everything.
We’re looking forward to coming again soon and trying more of the menu!

We sat at the sushi bar because the tables were all reserved. It was fun to watch chef prepare our sashimi sampler and rolls. Our starter was a seaweed and calamari salad that was absolute perfection. Izakaya serves some of the best sushi in the region in a serene environment.

As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff, the lovely lighting, and the good vibes of the music. We had “Chris” as our server tonight, who was excellent! He did not leave my water glass empty for a minute, which I so appreciate when dining out – thanks, Chris!
The photos of the food don’t do it justice, but everything that came out made us even more excited for the next; the dumplings were gone within seconds, yum…the rolls are fresh and stay in tact, the ramen hit the spot, and the desserts were so fresh and flavorful, we wanted to lick the plate clean. Oh, and the sake is a fun option to split for two, plenty to go around.
We weren’t even halfway through our meal when we discussed what we would order the next time we dine-in. Will absolutely be back for more – thanks for having us!

This is so close to a 5 but the issue was that the meal took forever to come out. I ate the spicy pork dumpling which was not spicy at all but super delicious and the chicken fried rice which was filling but a little too soy saucy. My wife got some sort of beef special and that was exceptional that should be on the menu! Overall it is worth the hefty hefty price tag but I would expect food to be served a bit faster.
