I like this place—the employees are nice, and the burgers and sandwiches are usually good. However, on my last visit an 18% tip was added by default, even though you order at the counter, pick up your own food, and bus your own table. The owners should pay their employees a fair wage instead of automatically adding an extra 18% without providing table service.

Downgrading my review from 2 stars to 1 star. The owners responded to my review saying that an 18% tip was not being added. However, when I went back an 18% tip was again prompted when I went to pay by credit card. So again, I like this place and encourage people to eat here. But be careful when you pay by credit card, they will assign a default tip of 18% even though they do not provide any table service.

We had lunch here for the first time a couple of days ago and it was delicious!
We ordered the two chicken tenders with fries meal and the chicken sandwich and fries meal.
Friends we were with ordered the onion rings and they really enjoyed them.
The chicken was juicy, tender and crispy. Perfection! The fries were hot and delicious. There is indoor seating but we opted to sit outside on the patio under one of the many umbrellas and enjoy the crisp weather.
We will be back for sure!

Overall: 4.75: Great concept to convert a historical school to trendy eateries, gift shop & restaurant/bars. Interesting provenance about the school history. Cool, relaxed vibe with activities outside/inside & multiple patios & seating areas. Free bottled water & wrapped silverware/utensils & plates. Variety of drink options including beer, wine & cocktails & food options (American, Mexican, Italian, etc.). Kid-and-family friendly environment. Favorites: Chicken Fingers with fries & hamburger with onion rings. Empanadas served to order. Place order & then prompted for pickup via your mobile phone.

You can’t beat the environment. We had a burger from there with the hummus plate. The hummus plate left a little to be desired in terms of quantity. But it was good. The burger and fries I would do again!

The reason I subtracted 1 star is because of the upcharge to get sweet potato fries instead of regular fries -$4.45. The menu on the counter reads like the Bacon & Blue comes with regular fries included. Aside from this issue, the person who waited on me was also the cook. He was friendly, engaged, and helpful when I asked about the Rosemary Lemonade. He got my food quickly and it was hot. The serving size was sufficient for me. See photos for size of the burger and the portion of fries. The blue cheese made the burger quite tasty if you like blue cheese. The sweet potato fries were good – cooked just right – not underdone and not burned. He did great cooking my food. Burger, sweet potato fries, and Lemonade was $20.45 before a tip.

We tried this out for our first “Date Jar” night as newlyweds. We were confused a bit at first, but we walked in the front doors and were not disappointed. This place is really fun and the food was stellar. We don’t drink, so we ended up in the kitchen for an early dinner. There were all types here, families, groups, couples, trendy friends hanging out for drinks. There’s outdoor patios, indoor seating and wonderful service. We also bought local mini art from the Art-O-Matic. So cute! Recommendation: try the Korean Burger or the Classic. Fresh beef and tasty ingredients you can taste the difference.

There are several restaurants to choose from but the BBQ spot outside was the most appealing. Then I just paired my meal with an IPA from the partner bar The Barrel Room downstairs. They are steps away from each other

Visited with 2 young kids.
Soft pretzel, kids loves it.
Chicken tenders, very good, kids liked it as did I. Very large tenders.
Grilled chicken sandwich, just ok.
Mac & cheese, kids didn’t like it but I thought it was excellent. Kids would rather have velveta shells and cheese.

Great place to relax and enjoy lunch! Good selection of deli sandwiches, salads, burgers, coffee and drinks. We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere in the Teachers Lounge while visiting with friends and family.

So we got the hot chicken sandwiches and a basket of sweet potato fries. I’ve got nothing but love for the actual food. This was the best thing I’ve tasted out in a long time. However, I have some thoughts. We are several years removed from Covid and the QR code menus have got to go. They are obnoxious, tacky, and can be an accessibility barrier for older people. I don’t love the counter service either, but to add insult to injury, you have your staff show a tip screen with a 20% default. It’s entirely self-service-food pickup and bussing. For why are you pressuring customers to tip for a service they aren’t receiving? If you want to pay your staff more, fine. I can understand that. Work it into your menu prices. This tipping trend creates unnecessary friction/awkwardness between employees and your customers. I understand why you and many others have chosen to do this as it takes the pressure off the employer- but nevertheless, it kind of sucks. I know I’m not the only person out there that feels this way.
