It’s Time to Eat was started in 2022 after our first TikTok video became viral and licensed to be a restaurant in 2023. The owners of the restaurant are Craig and Julunda Taylor. We share a building with the Church of Reconciliation which they both oversee. The Church of Reconciliation is a non-denominational church established in 2011. The property was inherited from Nathaniel Taylor, the late father to Pastor and Owner BigChefTaylor. Originally, the building was a home for living and then was transformed into a church. Now we have added our restaurant to the building. We desire to establish a better connection with the community through a bridge of our faith, food, and family.

I ordered the smoked leg quarter with macaroni and cheese and cabbage with beef sausage. My husband ordered the jerk leg quarters with macaroni and cheese and yams. The first impression is that the energy was high, positive, and they were friendly when I walked in, even though it was less than 1 hour until closing. Everything was bagged nearly and ready to go. I was really impressed by the fact that the wet dishes were packaged separately in a way that considered spillage during transit, so I had no issue there. The pineapple garnish was a nice surprise. The cabbage was good, with a slight kick (not overwhelming), though I would’ve liked more meat. The cornbread was perfect for me, not too sweet… just enough… with a sweet top. I’m a mac and cheese snob, so it was good, but I wouldn’t get excited about it. The smoked chicken was good.
Overall, they are good and I’d return. I’m not diaphragm in what I spent for what I got.

I have eaten at this establishment at LEAST 10 times now. I have not eaten at any restaurant that delivers the level of freshness and consistency that It’s Time To Eat does. The quality of food, paired with the amount of food that you get for the price you pay is amazing!

This is the second time I’ve had a meal from this eatery. And the second time I have been amazed. Big chef put his foot, elbow and hands with prayer on this food! Today I had the Hamburger Steak with potatoes, a side of cabbage with beef sausage and Mac and cheese, all fire!!!!! You have to try this experience forget ya mama chef got ya!!!

Cute and cozy spot with great hospitality and out of this world soul food!!!! You will not be disappointed! Everything was perfectly seasoned and the portions are large.

This is a quaint place in NLR (Mc Almont), food was good, all well seasoned not overly though, the price point os a bit pricey, i had the oxtails, yams and greens, havent tried any thing else yet may try the smash burger next, I also had th banana pudding i would give it a 6 out of 10.

Do not the location or the size of the restaurant deter you from dropping in. The food is some of the best we’ve ever ever had! Even our 6 and 11 year old loved it. Even better then the food tho was the customer service!! These people CARE and went above and beyond for us when we were there because they had sold out of some items while we waited for our table. They earned customers for life! Do yourself a favorite and save room for dessert! You won’t regret it!!

I took my mom here for Mother’s Day and when I tell you the food was 10/10 Don’t walk, RUN! The place is small so you may want to do take out, either way I don’t think you will be disappointed! Our server was really sweet and attentive. I will definitely be back!

5 stars are not enough for this awesome restaurant! The food was AMAZING, the portions were BIG, reasonably priced, and the customer service is second to none! We had the hamburger steak, yams, mac & cheese, green beans, and cornbread muffins, and the no banana pudding! S T U F F E D!! I can’t say enough about how pleased we were.
