I ordered the butter chicken with garlic naan (medium spice), and I’m not exaggerating when I say this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
This wasn’t just dinner , this was a full-blown spiritual awakening served in a bowl.
The curry was so rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced I’m convinced it was crafted by angels trained in the ancient arts of garam masala. Every bite was layered with flavor , smooth, buttery, slightly smoky, and finished with just enough heat to remind you that you’re alive. Not “blow your head off” spice… just that perfect medium kick that says, “Relax, I got you.”
And the garlic naan? Unreal. Soft, warm, brushed with buttery goodness and just the right amount of garlic. It wasn’t just bread , it was a golden chariot delivering curry straight to my soul. I wiped that plate clean like I was polishing a trophy.

This review is LONG OVERDUE‼️ It’s Masala Time is such a pleasant surprise in Chestertown, MD. I’ve always been greeted with a smile each time I’ve ate here. The food, my God, the food is so good! It’s like eating a warm hug Amazing flavors and the menu is so full there’s always something new to try! Plus, the dining area is well lit and it’s always clean.
Here’s a story about how amazing this restaurant truly is! I celebrate my birthday at the beginning of the month, and my cousin, who lives out of state, wanted to surprise me by treating me to dinner for the night. So of course I chose It’s Marsala Time because I was in the mood for Indian Cuisine and I didn’t want to drive far from Chestertown to enjoy it. Well my cousin looked up their number and we called my takeout order in over the phone. When I arrived to pick up my order, I discovered that we accidentally called their Elkton, MD, location, which is 40+ mins away. The staff were so accommodating! They called the Elkton location, verified the order, transferred the sale to the Chestertown location, started preparing my order here and even gave me a Mango Lassi drink as a birthday present while I waited! Talk about customer service!
If you haven’t tried them out, give them a try! My favorite meal is the vegetable samosas with the vegetable fried rice and chicken tikka marsala both with medium heat. The flavors are so good!!!

They have great food and they are vary hospitable. We have only been here twice and have only tried the tiki masala but it is always delicious. Also the times we have went there was nobody there dining so you get seated right away and it dosent take long for the food to come out. Would definitely recomend to anyone who likes Indian food.

First time we visited It’s Masala Time and we will definitely be back. The staff was fast and very friendly. The food was fantastic, we especially liked the chicken saag, chicken korman and the chana masala. It was a nice touch to have the chef come out and ask us about our meal.

The food is outstanding and the service is excellent. The cook checked in and was genuinely concerned about my happiness. It was delicious. I will say the decor is a little funky and they could afford some larger artwork pieces on the wall and the day we were there the air conditioning was a little on the fritz. Things happen though. All in all a great experience. I’d recommend it to anybody passing through chestertown

Great for the whole family! The owner runs the front of house and worked as a chef on Carnival Cruise for many years. His brother and father run the kitchen. In addition to being delicious and full flavor, they can make the spiciness level to your liking. The presentation is top notch and the food is good for your health. You can tell they really care.

DELICIOUS! SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF! Definitely a must try! I’ll be back many times. I’ve tried the dine-in experience for dinner and also had takeout another night: both are great! Highly recommend the Mango Lassi to drink if you like sweet drinks to put the spicy fire out. Highly recommend getting the Naan bread with all of your orders. The butter Naan is delicious but definitely try the sweet raisin Naan, it’s so good! Huge vegetarian selection. Loved their cauliflower curry dishes. Also loved their Butter Chicken!!! Everything was delicious! Even the leftovers which I took home and had the next day was great! The staff were super friendly and nice. Great experience. Cool and vibrant atmosphere! Perfect for date night or a night out with friends or solo! 10/10 will be back!

Today I visited It’s Masala Time for lunch. This was my first visit and will absolutely be the first of many. They opened just a few days ago and I can highly recommend them.
First, we were greeted warmly and shown to a table. Hospitality was great.
The staff attended to our questions with ease. My wife is not a fan of curry so she was apprehensive about the food choices- our host was very friendly and suggested she try Butter Chicken. She LOVED it.
I ordered a chicken biryani and it was delicious. The chicken was married to the spices and the rice. Perfect portion size too.
We especially liked the choices of Naan. We selected a chili garlic naan and that was a good compliment to our entrees.
Servers were attentive without being intrusive and we shared a relaxing meal in a quiet atmosphere. They were busy and there were many carry out orders being processed as well. Food came out fast and our order was perfectly accurate, even with it being a lunch hour rush and just opening.
Again, we will see you soon – thank you for your hospitality and for our lunch.

The food and the Chef are excellent. Wait staff is one person that has no wine or menu knowledge. Chef/owner attempts to cook and run front of house. Order your food for pick-up and you will love it.

So so good. We had the tikka appetizer and the Samosa (forgive for the spelling if I’m wrong). We also had the Butter Chicken and the Tikka Shrimp Masala. Everything tasted very good.
