“It’s in the Sauce” catering has now done three reunions for our veterans group, and Wayne and his family continue to knock it out of the park every time.
There are no fancy contracts, no drama, and no surprises—just a handshake, a date, and a headcount. I tell Wayne when we’re eating and how many mouths we need to feed, and he shows up on time, fully prepared, and ready to deliver. That kind of reliability is rare, and it means everything when you’re feeding a large group.
The food is consistently excellent, the service is smooth, and the whole operation reflects pride, experience, and family values. You can tell this is a family-owned business that genuinely cares about doing things right.

The brisket was tender and packed with flavor, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfect, and the sides were seasoned just right. You could truly taste the care and craftsmanship in every dish. The sauce? Legendary — rich, balanced, and unforgettable.

Amazing amazing. Amazing. I had the turkey legs special with the barbecue beans a peach cobbler, and every bite of food was the new experience. The smokiness and juiciness of the turkey leg was amazing with an outer Chris skin was I’ve never experienced before the beans were a perfect texture not too sweet not too hot. Had a nice chunks of meat inside of them now to the best part of the peach cobbler, heaven heaven, it was not too sweet, not too tart. The batter was not burnt. The peaches had a wonderful freshness taste to them. The staff was amazing, amazingly, polite and courteous. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys barbecue and enjoys just that good old southern food.

It most certainly is all about the sauce! Drove 45 minutes and man did it deliver! Hard to find decent BBQ around these pockets of CA, so what a pleasant surprise it was to stumble upon this gem. Definitely worth the trip. You can tell everything is made with the utmost love and that’s reflected in the lovely owners running the operation. If you’re looking for some solid cue, you have to check out this joint!

Just to to start this off on the right note, it’s a maximum of five stars well this place deserves 10 stars. Best BBQ I’ve had in a very long long time!!! I ordered the 3 meat combo plate : tri-tip, brisket, and hot link. This came with 2 side dishes which I ordered BBQ beans and Mac and cheese. I got a ton of the most tender meat I’ve ever had!!! I can’t say enough about the speed and friendliness of the employees. I will be back very soon for my next dose of BBQ and I recommend everyone give them a try.

Easily the best BBQ in all of Ventura county.
I moved to the area a couple of months ago and have been searching every BBQ place from Simi Valley to Santa Barbara looking for this!! Smoked meat that has been cooked slowly and with tons of love. I got a 3 meat plate that comes with 2 sides and a garlic sub roll, I added an extra side of corn bread so that it would be a complete meal for me 2x. For the price, the amount of food included was unbelievable. I live on a budget and getting two full meals of hearty BBQ for $26 is pretty unbelievable. The chicken breast was pretty good, very smokey. The tri-tip was so good!! Delicious deep smoke ring, nice lean meat, just fabulous. The brisket was easily the star of the show, I’ll be getting that every time and I’ll be back to try the burnt ends tons of sides available, I got Mac n cheese and baked beans, both were outstanding. There is so much to try on the menu and I can’t wait to check each item off my list.
On top of top notch food, the service provided was above and beyond. Stephanie talked to each guest and knew her regulars. She was so personable and kind, she made me smile and feel welcome. I can’t wait to return!

This spot is mind meltingly dank I ordered their pulled pork sandwich with macaroni. The porks flavor was artistically perfect, the roll cradled the meat and it never got soggy, the pickles were solid, last but not least the macaroni was delicious very cheesy and rich. 6/5 stars

Best BBQ place I have been too! This place smokes Bodacious BBQ. The food was so delicious and so were their sides. I had a tri-tip sandwich with the hot links, collared greens as my side and a homemade lemonade. The sandwich was made to perfection, the bread was delicious and somewhat crunchy with a good amount of meat that was seasoned well. The collared greens tasted so good and the lemonade was homemade and was also yummy. Definitely recommend this place.
