One of the top Italian spots in SF, Itria serves up classic Italian dishes and innovative appetizers. Perfect for date nights, make sure to book in advance – service can be a bit on the slower side but food is worth it

Best tasting menu and service despite a sketchy location. The food is amazing, the chefs are doing true magic. Servers remember me, my family and our menu preferences. Very attentive and accommodating. 10/10

PS please change the last pasta from the tasting menu – the carbonara – it’s not good, too salty and fat

I wanted to come here because I’m a sucker for seafood and pasta. When I heard of Itria’s tasting menu was centered around the two, it sounded like a match made in heaven. $95 for the tasting menu for portion sizes I felt was fair. They were very generous with the pasta servings. I had an average rating for the food itself because for the pricing I felt like there could’ve been more. For a chef’s menu I felt like it was a bit disjointed and each dish didn’t build on top of each other cohesively. The seafood which I was looking forward to was missing acid to lift them up. The pasta, tonight I felt like they all kinda just were similar dishes. Very creamy white sauce which I wanted some more variations. My table had the normal tasting menu and vegetarian. I actually felt the vegetarian appetizers had more flavor profile of salt and acidity. Overall solid and they weren’t bad dishes but tasting menu lacked somewhat creativity. Maybe next time I would try a la carte. Though I felt the food was somewhat average the service and atmosphere were 5/5 stars. And high raves on the yuzu-rita!

This is not an ordinary meal! From start to finish our experience was intentional and unforgettable.

We were here to celebrate my best friends 30th and we had reservations at another restaurant but once we hit the streets, we kept hearing about Itria! So we have to check it out. They had no reservations available the day before so we decided to just pop up 8:30pm on a Friday.

The maître d’ was very transparent about them having no seating available & didn’t make any promises.

But somehow someway, we were able to squeeze into the bar and have one of the best dining experiences in SF.

We did the flight of saki. We did the Chef ‘s tasting of three different Crudo’s. We split a chickpea salad, which I’m obsessed with Chicky, lamb belly in a mushroom Sugo pasta. All I have zero notes for. I wish we had room to draw more food.

Very flavorful dishes tho maybe a bit too salty on some of them.

Four of us shared :
1 order of focaccia bread, 1 order of a salad, 1 order of oysters, 3 pastas, & the sea bass

By the time we got to the seabass, we were pretty full.

The seabass was probably everyone’s least favorites dish and the biggest – we wouldn’t order it again.

My fave dish was the lettuce salad. So much flavor . I would be happy w that one alone and a side of focaccia

Great apps but the mains were too salty and not flavorful at all. There are better Italian spots in the city!

I absolutely loved their innovative take on Italian food. The variety of fresh seafood paired with fun, complex, exciting sauces made for an amazing build up to the hearty pasta courses. The use of mushrooms at this restaurant was definitely a stand out. The shiitake, olive oil and citrus in the tuna tartar made for a really unique, particularly delightful flavor combination for what is otherwise a classic. The texture and flavor of the chanterelles made the second pasta feel really meaty and filling. The variety of beverages in the alcohol pairing was so fun and different. The ambience was also so relaxed, especially in the communal table. It was great to chat with other folks during dessert. Overall I left the restaurant full, a bit tipsy and extremely happy this is a must try in SF!

Bread was the perfect way to start with the cheese. The crust was fresh and delicate and worked well with the orange. Best salad was firm and sweet. The dessert wine was amazing. Really enjoyed eating at the counter.

Overall, we had a good experience and although it’s expensive, I think it’s worthwhile. The service was excellent and they took a lot of time to discuss my food sensitivities.

The pasta with black pepper was delicious although it really had too much black pepper, I’m not sure anybody would really be able to finish a dish that had so much black pepper!

All the other dishes were great

Fantastic food! The pistachio sorbetto was amazing — and everything was great!

And they were incredibly accommodating to special diets (e.g. gluten free, dairy free). Different people in our group had different diets, and each received an annotated menu showing what we could have to eat, along with any modifications that could be made to dishes.
