This place is the absolute best. The food is incredible and the family who runs the place is so sweet and kind. We love it here. The food is somehow next level good every time, and the ice cream is high quality and delicious. The prices are great and the portions are generous. Highly highly recommend.

I had such a great experience at Itgen’s Ice Cream Parlor! From the moment we walked in, the staff treated my family with such kindness—it truly felt like a warm, welcoming place. They were so sweet with my kids, even had them laughing and smiling the whole time.
The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. And the prices? Totally affordable for the quality and portions we received. Even the other customers made us feel right at home. It was one of those places where you just feel the good energy all around.

Not my first visit, but I will say they have upped their game since my last visit almost a decade ago. Our server was awesome & very welcoming & all smiles. She made our Cherry Lime Rickeys, fresh squeezed limes made such a difference! The food quality, excellent, ice cream quantity, very generous & tasty. Definitely highly recommended. Oh get the waffle fries! Heck get everything & tip the friendly hard working staff. They kick butt! Thank you Itgen’s we will return soon!

I have such vivid memories from my childhood of Itgen’s, which simply transported you back to the 50s with esthetics and food I had only read about – for example, a lime rickie. My fave thing as a kid was a waffle with ice cream and hot fudge. I blame Itgen’s for my being a pudgy kid for a bit! Most of all, I remember the super friendly staff, who also always remembered us. And when my mom would let me play hookie from school or I had a half day, Itgen’s was our lunch spot. I don’t get back to Valley Stream these days. But I’d def love to swing by the next time I’m back on LI.

Ice cream is always great. Service is always fantastic and friendly. Potato salad was YUK. Cole slaw was YUK too. Im pretty sure it was lettuce and not cabbage. My bacon burger was fabulous! Good pickle.

The entire place is as authentic as it gets. The staff is incredibly friendly and work very hard behind the counter. There is just an old school comfortable feeling here that can’t be faked.
The food is absolutely next level. One of the best burgers we’ve ever had. The onion rings- don’t debate, JUST GET THEM. We even tried some nostalgic items like the insanely good peanut butter and bacon sandwich. There are tons of different drinks and fruit punch items made with freshly squeezed juice. Every single item we ordered we DEMOLISHED with no remorse. It was that good!!
Also— Whether you’ve saved room for dessert or not, you MUST get ice cream.

Omg! Just omg! First of all…… I’ve never seen my son eat ice cream so fast. We normally do Rita’s on Mondays but since it’s closed for the season we thought we’d check some other places out! This is DEFINITELY a GEM! Omg!
First of all, immediately you look at the place from the outside and think, “omg it’s so cute.” Then you step inside and think “omg it’s so cute!” Lol! The people are super nice too so that’s a plus.
I think it’s also a diner and not just an ice cream parlor. I’ll find that out in the future because we’ll definitely be back. I love how they had all these little candies and treats you could buy too! That was great we didn’t get any but we definitely will.
I had “Death by Chocolate” and my son had “Cherry” ice cream with cherries on top. As good as mine was, I think I might go for that cherry ice cream next time because boi that one made my tastebuds sing! The death by chocolate was chocolatey but not as chocolatey as I expected, but I REALLY loved the fudge she put on it because baby?! Mmmm!
Not to mention the lady that helped us was super nice and so cute! She’s the one on the left in the pic I shared. I should have asked her name for the review but it’s okay I’ll update you guys when we go back next Monday lol!
