Downtown Chula Vista has many great sports but i had not tried this one until recently. Their complimentary fresh bread is so good, dipped into an oil & vinegar mix. We split a salad & added chicken as protein. We also tried the tomato soup & a vegetarian pizza. Service was excellent & very well priced for such a big dinner. Next trip i will try a pasta & dessert. Everything was delicious & fresh.

Desserts were delicious. We were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Party of four. Bread was delicious. Meals arrived quick, hot and fresh. I requested a simple dish of angel hair and red sauce. Sauce was the best I’ve ever tasted.

Such a delicious place; tastes so authentic and incredible!! I can tell the manager is from Italy and there is such a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Wonderful service and a delightful dinner. Loved the fettuccine Carmelina and the tiramisu is incredible!

Italianissimo is my family’s favorite restaurant for a multitude of reasons. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is excellent. It’s our go-to place to celebrate special occasions or just enjoy a good meal. And now they serve cocktails, I tried the espresso martini and it’s so good! So thankful for this Chula Vista gem!!

The Italian food here is simple and authentic. I did expect the chicken breast to be thick but the one served to me was rather flat. I filled up with bread. The wine servings are small, which I did ask the waiter to fill up the glass some more but i guess they go by small serving sizes. The experience was worth the try. Not sure if I would come back, but I would recommend others to try this place if they are curious.

We are from Maine on a cross country RV trip. We would typically ask at check-in to the RV parks for a favorite restaurant of the local population, not a tourist spot.
Italianissimo was recommended. When we were seated in the restaurant we could hear Italian being spoken at an adjacent table. A good sign, I thought.
I am 2nd generation Italian, have spent years in Europe, visiting Italy often. Itialianissimo was the most authentic casual Italian restaurant I have experienced. I had the opportunity to speak with the manager who is the son of the chef and owner of the restaurant. He was preparing for a trip to visit family in Italy. The ties to Italy are definitely represented in the food and service. Preparation, quality, presentation and service were exceptional. While we tried a number of dishes, it was only a small sample of those available. I am certain they were representative of the taste and quality of the rest of the menu. We so thoroughly enjoyed the experience we returned to the restaurant again the next day. Our meals included wine and desert.

frequent here often and never disappoints…my wife lives the lasagna and I love the Linguine alle vongole….although the specials are worth hearing before deciding. Had a delicious wine with dinner as pictured.
