IT! An Italy Ristorante Café Bar in downtown Las Olas, Fort Lauderdale offers an absolutely elegant dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is stylish, warm, and sophisticated—perfect for a special night out or a refined evening downtown. From the attentive service to the beautifully designed space, everything feels thoughtfully curated and upscale without being pretentious.
The standout dish of the night was the truffle short rib ravioli—simply unforgettable. Each bite was rich, perfectly balanced, and incredibly flavorful, with tender short rib and luxurious truffle notes that melted in your mouth. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the meal is over.
If you’re looking for exceptional Italian cuisine, a refined ambiance, and a memorable dining experience on Las Olas, IT! An Italy is an absolute must. I can’t wait to return. ✨
The appetizers were the highlight of the night. The tuna tartare was hands down our favorite fresh, perfectly balanced, and honestly out of this world. The burrata was light, fresh, and beautifully done. The crab cake was okay, not our favorite, but still decent.
Where things fell a bit short for us were the entrées. Both dishes lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. I was especially surprised by this since creamy pastas like carbonara usually pack more richness and flavor. My boyfriend ordered the truffle parmesan gnocchi, and unfortunately, it also came across as bland with very little truffle or parmesan flavor shining through.
Dessert was another miss for me, the caramel flan didn’t hit the mark. It lacked flavor and almost tasted sugar-free, which was disappointing.
That said, I would still recommend IT! Italy, mainly for the service, ambiance, and appetizers. I’d absolutely return and try different items from the menu next time, because the potential is definitely there.
Alex took care of us at the bar. He was knowledgeable and knows his stuff. Drinks and hookah 10/10. The hookah was smooth, it didn’t burn fast and finally the flavors tasted like what was promoted!
Louis Bossi had an insanely long wait, so we figured we’d try this place instead since it had a pretty high star rating on Google. Y’all… those 5-star reviews were definitely purchased in bulk.
The ambiance? Cute.
The drinks? Solid.
The food, the entire point of going to a restaurant, absolutely atrocious.
The calamari appetizer was rubbery with stale breading. Not crispy. Not crunchy. Not light. Just old. It genuinely tasted like reheated leftovers from someone else’s table. I was waiting for the microwave ding.
Now let’s talk about the flatbread. Calling it flatbread is generous. It was basically a pizza Lunchable tossed into a microwave and sent out with confidence. The crust was soggy and chewy (aka frozen), the cheese was barely melted, and there was zero effort to even brown it. ZERO. Not worth $5. Criminal at $25.
And apparently this restaurant has a full-blown floral obsession.
They put a literal flower in my short rib pasta. Why? Is this a garden? A wedding centerpiece? A botanical exhibit? Because last I checked, flowers are not seasoning.
As if that wasn’t enough, they also have an automated floral air freshener spraying directly OVER THE TABLES. Yes, over the food. Nothing says fine dining like a mist of artificial Febreze as a garnish. My eyes were watering, my nose was running, and I felt like I was eating inside a Bath & Body Works.
Even our waitress admitted people complain about it all the time and offered to move us. At that point I had emotionally checked out and was just waiting for the rest of my party to finish eating.
You work hard for your money. Please don’t spend it here. You will leave hungry, disappointed, and wondering how this place has the audacity to charge restaurant prices for cafeteria quality food.
Consider this my community service.
(Apologies for the blurry pictures. It was dark, and I was likely mid-sneeze.)
Ordered pasta, Caesar salad, tuna tartare (really good!) and gnocchi with truffle oil — they forgot the oil the first time but fixed it quickly.
Overall, everything was fine, just not a “wow” experience. A decent Italian spot on Las Olas for a relaxed lunch.
