Atmosphere was amazing. Very helpful for our first time here, Mehmet gave us a great recommendation since there were a lot of options to choose from. My husband enjoyed their Turkish coffee and first time eating baklava. Very hospitable and we will frequent this spot more & found one in New Jersey. Recommend 100%
Had the Istanbul Combination for two and we already started eating before taking the pictures, it smelled so good, we had to dig in. It is a lot of food, but we will be eating this for lunch tomorrow as well. The food was fantastic, all the meats were so tender and spices just right. We can’t wait to try more of what’s on their menu.

Absolutely wonderful experience — twice!
We visited Istanbul Food Lovers in August, first for dinner and then again the next morning for breakfast, and both times the experience was simply perfect.
The food and the service were excellent. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious. We were very hungry and excited to try different dishes, so we ordered a lot — and the portions were so generous that we even had leftovers for the next day at the hotel, which were still amazing.
Our 15-month-old son also ate very well and happily. The kids’ menu was great, and it meant so much to us that he could enjoy the food just as much as we did.
The owner was extremely warm and welcoming, came to talk with us, and truly made us feel cared for. We didn’t feel like customers in a restaurant — we felt like we were having dinner at a friend’s home.
That’s exactly why we returned the next morning for breakfast… and once again, it was outstanding.
This place is a true gem.
Amazing food, amazing people, and a beautiful atmosphere.
We cannot recommend it enough.

I really enjoyed this place. It felt warm and relaxed the moment I walked in, and the food tasted fresh and comforting, not rushed or generic. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Our server Mehmet & the staff there were genuinely kind and made the experience better. Always checking in on us like if we need anything. It’s the kind of spot I’d come back to when I want good Turkish food and enjoy the culture!

Nice Service, But Food Was Disappointing
The staff at Istanbul Food Lovers were really kind and welcoming, but the food overall was a letdown.
We started with the Cigar Rolls—crispy and cheesy, super tasty. The Lahmajoun (Safiha) was also great. But after that, things went downhill. The Istanbul Combination platter was just okay—the meat was chewy and not very warm, like it had been reheated. The cheese in the Chicken Hunkar Begendi had a sour taste and had to be sent back. The server was very nice about it and even gave us free baklava, but it was soggy and fell apart.
We also noticed a $2.67 mystery charge on the receipt with no item breakdown, which felt sketchy. And seeing the owner respond harshly to negative reviews online was a bit off-putting.
In short: good starters, great service, but most of the food didn’t taste fresh, and the billing wasn’t clear. Wouldn’t come back.

Ordered a spicy gyro to go, that comes with a salad. I made sure that I asked for ranch 3 times and it wasn’t put in there. There was no feta cheese put in there, even though it says so on the menu. I also asked for just a side of tzatziki sauce and I was charged $4 for a giant container that they had just pulled out of the freezer. So it had a bunch of ice in it. Making it unusable for my gyro that already doesn’t have any in it. I used to love this place, but it feels like whoever is in the kitchen doesn’t care. The owner, Mehmet is very kind. But I ended paying $22 for an $11 mediocre sandwhich after tip. Super, super disappointed. I dont think I will be back, unfortunately

We had a wonderful experience at Istanbul Food Lovers yesterday. The service was absolutely amazing and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.
We were dining with our daughter, and they surprised us by serving her a strawberry cake free of charge — it was delicious, and she loved it! They also brought us complimentary meze, which we truly enjoyed.
The kindness, generosity, and overall atmosphere made our visit extra special. We will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious- I had a combo plate with lamb. Fresh ingredients, filling, worth the price, and felt good after eating it!
Customer service was customized and kind. They also gave free hot tea while I waited for my food.

Amazing Turkish foods. You can have real delicious Turkish breakfast experience in this place. They also serve brunch and dinner with all kinds of Turkish, Mediterranean choices of foods. Our best go to place, you must try their Turkish breakfast!

This palace is so good . The food, service, and atmosphere. Don’t worry the food is HALAL the service was great and food was warm.Loved it. We started with lahmacun as a starter. But it was so great, so more than likely it will be our main course next time. But this time we got 3-person mixed kebab for my family of five. But it was well more than enough, and very delicious. The owner welcomed us, had a great time. Recommend anyone who wish or miss some real Turkish food.
