That was a plus.
This is one of those rare restaurants where you can confidently order anything on the menu and know you’re going to love it. The food quality is always high, the portions are generous, and the pricing has remained incredibly reasonable for the value you get.
Beyond the food, the staff truly make you feel like family. There’s a warm, welcoming Cuban ambiance that makes every visit feel comfortable and familiar — like home. It’s a sure bet if you’re looking for a meal you’ll genuinely enjoy, every single time.
On this particular visit, our waitress Daily inspired me to finally leave this review after I mentioned how great my lunch was and how long I’ve been coming here. She was absolutely wonderful — attentive, kind, and just an all-around fantastic waitress. Highly recommend asking for her when you visit.
Islas Canarias is a Miami classic for a reason.
We sat on a table, asked a waitress if she could serve us, and she said she would as soon as she got her things sorted. I’ve worked in customer service in this country for over 20 years and had never heard of anything like this. When five minutes passed without anyone coming to serve us, we moved to the counter, where no one served us either, and we sat there for almost five more minutes. Annoyed, I stood up and asked the same waitress as before why no one was serving us, that we had a doctor’s appointment and needed to have breakfast and leave quickly, and that wherever we sat, we were ignored.
At this point, the waitress told me she would take my order immediately, which she did in front of me and I even heard her telling the kitchen to hurry up because we needed to leave.
The food came very quickly, the waitress served us very correctly and professionally, which we appreciated when she served us.
The milk was watery and the croquettes lacked their usual flavor. The bread was generously buttered, just as we requested, and it was delicious.
In the end, they brought us the check promptly so we could leave as we wished, and we were grateful for that.
In my humble opinion, the manager should be aware that if they open the establishment at 7:00 a.m., the employees should be ready to serve customers without objections. They must also ensure that the food maintains the same standards as before, because long-time customers notice the difference in quality for the worse.
