My husband and I were referred to this restaurant while we were visiting the Fort Lauderdale Miami area. We went this evening because we were meeting a couple. We did not go to order our food right away because we were waiting for the couple. The whole while we were waiting, I could hear two female workers behind the counter, complaining, and Jamaican slang about the fact that we hadn’t come up to order, and they don’t come to the tables to take our orders. Which we didn’t ask for. The couple was running late, so we decided to go and order our food. When we got up to the counter, the person taking our order was quite rude. She said “ we don’t come take your order. You have to come to the counter. We not serving people.” After I finally understood what she was saying, I clarified for her that we had been waiting for another couple. That’s why we did not come up to the counter. But if they were polite, they would’ve just asked if they could help us. I went to order my food and this was about six in the evening, and they were out of brown gravy chicken. So I ordered another meal with peas and rice. They were also out of cabbage and carrots. So I ordered mixed vegetables. My husband also ordered mixed vegetables. I forgot exactly what he ordered but they didn’t have what he was ordering either so he had to choose something else. Once we paid and sat down, then the lady shouted over to us that they were out of peas and rice. So we ended up getting just white rice. The mixed rice seem like it was just frozen peas and carrots that had been steamed with no flavor. I had ordered macaroni and cheese on the side and the macaroni noodles were large Rigatoni noodles. There seem to be a half an inch thick layer of cheese on top not very much cheese mixed in. To top it off I feel like it was over compensation. She loaded my plate with food. I got a double portion of macaroni and cheese that I didn’t ask for. I just didn’t like the experience. We honestly did not finish the food. I don’t even believe I ate half the food. It was not even that good. I believe we threw that food in the garbage the next day. Is especially bad because we had eaten two days before at a very good Jamaican cuisine restaurant called the Jerk Stop. I would encourage people to go there. It was wonderful, the customer service was wonderful, the food was delicious, I gave it a five star review right away.
One other thing I would like to say about this restaurant, I did not like the decor. When you walk up to place your order right behind the counter, you cannot help but to see a large picture advertise in Jamaica with a half naked lady with her behind, turned to the camera with a thong on in your face . To me that is not family friendly and that is not something that should be in a restaurant where families especially they might bring in their children.

This is a delivery order. There is a promotion buy one get one free. We ordered Jerk chicken with rice and Curry chicken with rice. The curry chicken is on the salty side, the portion of the rice seems little. The jerk chicken has little portion of rice too, it is the first time I tried the jerky chicken -a famous Jamaican dish unique spicy, smoky, and tender chicken. It is an ok dish, if given an opportunity I will not try these dishes here again.

I heard about Island Tings on IG, we were visiting Miami after our family cruise. I got the Turkey necks and when I tell you , They did not disappoint! It was delicious ! The cashier gave me a complimentary Ginger lemonade omg!!! Everything was 10/10 The pic below is mostly leftovers, Yes .. there is so much food. Portions are very large!

So this was my first time here. Place is absolutely stunning inside with the artwork/painting. There is no actual menu. There is a qr code you can scan once inside to order online it i saw a computer to the right I think to possibly order through there. I heard of this spot from a friend so I decided to stop by on my way home. Didn’t really see anything out i wanted so I inquired about salmon and shrimp. So I was asked if I wanted it with rice or pasta but I had no idea it was jerked. Well I probably should’ve asked or shouldn’t been told. But the young lady at the register lacked personality and I really didn’t seem helpful. I went to pay for my food & it was like $38. I didn’t know it was an up charge for shrimp. Again a lack of explanation of what I’m getting, I wanted asked if I wanted anything else etc. Anyway I sat down waiting and pulled up the menu online, it said they had watermelon lemonade so I went and asked to purchase some. She just shook her head like no. I said what you don’t have it? She didn’t open her mouth just shook her head. Mind you behind the counter there are other drinks she didn’t even bother to ask if I wanted any other flavor or any thing else to drink. POOR SERVICE FROM THIS YOUNG LADY. Anyway, I finally got my food and left. If I wanted to eat there again I works order online. You save 5.00 on your order and they also have a bogo on there also.

It was late, and I was using the Good to Go App. I had the curry chicken, white rice, and corn. The flavor was good. I didn’t eat the chicken. It was the ‘hunky’ part of the chicken leg. Yuck. Everything else was good. I apologize. That’s the wrong picture.
