The only thing left only item available was the curry goat. Tasted really good, despite the amount of bones. The cabbage was cold and the rice and peas didn’t taste seasoned. It tasted like plain white rice and I expected some thyme, allspice, seasonings something. He could have offered to add the curry over as gravy if that was the case. The price on the menu doesn’t match the price I paid. 17.99+tax for cold, cold/unseasoned and the amount of goat one usually gets when asking for oxtail with extra bones.

I don’t know what it was for me it just wasn’t hitting like some of the city jamacian spots. The one plate of curry chicken was mostly bones the curry itself was flavorful but just wasn’t enough poultry. The shrimp curry was a bit better I enjoyed that dish. My boy got the seafood he really enjoyed it and they gave him a lot of rice and peas and cabbage. If your seasoned and you’ve ate many different jamacian restaurants I’m not sure how they compare. Everything I had besides the actual curry itself was basic.

Saw a post about Island Spice Caribbean Restaurant in Carnegie. Decided to go there tonight with a group of people. It was amazing. We had oxtail, curried shrimp, Mac n cheese and plantains. Everything was delicious and definitely homemade. If you have the chance to go there please do. They definitely didn’t disappoint!!

I have never ate Jamaican food before, so I was a little hesitant to try the spicy stuff, so we decided to try the Red Snapper after reading some of the reviews, my daughter likes it deep fried, and it was perfect! Tender and moist, with simple breading so the full fish flavor came thru! The Chef cooked it head on to her delight, she can’t get it that way too many places. I had Chicken Alfredo, which was awesome, and the serving was big enough for 3 people! We also had Plantains, and shared a Beef Patty, which was new to me. Everything was great, fresh and tasty! Next time we will try some of the “Jerk” dishes, they look great too!

Authentic island cuisine. The food is fantastic. Come hungry, portions are big! Service is efficient and the new chef always has a smile. If you like spicy jerk chicken, go here!

Great place if you to try something completely different. Food was outstanding! And plenty of it. The styrofoam container was buckling under weight of how much food was in it. Will be back for sure.

Upon entering, the gentleman behind the counter (Stephen) was very friendly and welcoming, also super helpful as Carribean cuisine is not something I’ve had much experience with. His suggestion of the oxtail dinner was outstanding, rice and peas was incredible, steamed cabbage was delicious. My wife had the jerk shrimp with the same sides, hers was very spicy, but very tasty! We also got plantains that were great! There is also a pretty good assortment of Jamaican sodas (ginger beer, etc)

I am part trini and have been in search of an authentic carribean food experience since I moved to Pittsburgh. This place has good food, very well seasoned but DO NOT order the roti and think you are getting what you paid for. It’s a darn tortilla! What a insult to the culture! Why not mention that on the menu instead of trying to pass off Mexican-origined food as jamaican. I hope my review helps others not to make the same mistake I did.
