This is my go-to takeout Jamaican restaurant in St. Pete, I’ve probably been here a dozen times and everything has always been fantastic. My go-to’s are jerk chicken, fried Chicken, jerk pork, curry goat, and not in that order.
Here are a couple tips for enjoying this place.
1 This is authentic Jamaican food and I bet these recipes go back for generations. It’s not a corporate franchise with everything standardized. Come with respect and have a little bit of patience and you’ll be treated like family.
2 They cook the food buffet style, and they often sell out of some of the more popular dishes like oxtail. If you have your heart set on something come early, or just be ready with back up choices.
3 they’ll be randomly closed at times due to catering requests and they don’t answer the phone in my experience. You got to be cool with that.
4 they chop through bones when they’re prepping the meats, so watch out for bone fragments when you eat. They do this on purpose for flavor.

If you haven’t been here before, I highly recommend you give it a try.

I got there on a Friday at 1:05 at there was already a line!

It’s so hard to get actually good Jamaican food outside of South Florida, so I’m stoked this place exists. It’s not a fusion by any means, it’s exactly what I want. Good food for good value massive portions

– The rice and peas is great, coconuty, not mushy.
– The oxtail is fall of the bone tender, gravy is amazing. Good amount of butter beans
– Brown stew chicken was good too.
Solid beef patties! Spiced beef, flaky pastry what else is there to add it’s a solid beef patty!

And the service was so sweet the fried fish looked great, I would try it next time

PS. I forgot to take a picture before I ate most of it, but you just have to trust me it’s delicious

Cannot rave more. This was amazing. While my husband was out of town, I was in the mood for some good Caribbean food and a quiet spot. This hit the mark dead on. The food was authentic, absolutely delicious…. the staff was so nice and welcoming. Price was right too and the portions were excellent. I definitely will be back and next time with my husband.
I had the small plate of jerk chicken and rice with peas. The lady so nice with recommendations and offered to put the curry gravy on the rice because I was torn between the curry or the jerk. The curry gravy on the rice was so amazing. That’s a pro tip. I also bought the scotch bonnet paste made in house and it was perfect. To finish I got the mango bread and chocolate rum cake. Props to the mango bread. I now will not be able to live without it.
Although I only ate about 10% of each thing I got (because I’m so petite), I have wonderful leftovers to get me through these next few rainy days.
Thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience and see you again soon!

Great service, good food. Easily the best Caribbean spot in St Pete, actually the whole Bay area. Consistency, a good variety, and a welcoming/friendly atmosphere is what makes this restaurant the top spot. It is always good to see the Boss lady working amongst her crew. Respect to all the people working in the front and around back. Continued Success..

I was so excited to go here I bought two dinners and dessert! Oxtail is cooked perfect and its gravy was so tasty. The mango meatballs were incredible as well. I like spicy food and this wasn’t so I added my own heat. Please try the chocolate rum cake! Note, you can eat inside in a few seats but most people are getting it to go. Also, the portions are huge!!! Super nice people working there as well.

Knew when we arrived ten minutes til opening and there was a line at the door this place was definitely what reviews said. They delivered! Wonderful, friendly staff. Many choices of food. Seasoned perfectly (actually better than other Jamaican restaurants we’ve been to) the peas and rice had a little kick to them, so flavorful!! Portion size: ginormous. Mango bread was delicious, can’t wait to try the rum cake. Great for vegetarians and meat lovers alike! Wednesday’s are vegetarian/vegan days. Will be swinging back through for veggie patties and veggie soup. Highly recommend this place!

Where do I begin ! since I found this Jamaica restaurant I really can not eat from any other Jamaican restaurant in this area . I pass 3 Jamaican restaurants to get here from my home and never regret it! The consistent in this place is outstanding! The staff are always so polite with positive energy. The food is always fresh! Never oily! Never salty! Never under seasoned. I’ve eaten fish the most here but tried the chicken, oxtail and the pork as well. Everything always cooked CORRECT! I am an island woman only we understand the importance of authentic quality food, not being near family once you experience quality authentic Jamaican food you can’t go back to the basic the food here made it easier for me to stop eating fast food . You can taste the love and integrity. I haven’t eaten any ones fish the way I eat Miss. Helena’s fish. The consistency amazes you and keep you coming back ! Very grateful for the great experience and the consistency… your team is amazing

A LOYAL CUSTOMER.

Oh yeah, if you hungry, get it before it sells out. It always does. They open at 1pm and the food is beyond good. My favorite is the oxtail and curry goat and a side of mango meatballs. They also have desert. You may not way to eat the rum cake and go back to work lol. You can taste the flavor 4 sho. Limited inside seating. They accept all forms of payment. Limited parking but it’s free. Enjoy.
