Dined in earlier and got 2 buffalo chicken empanadas + 1 fountain drink lunch set. The empanadas were AMAZING, not crazy level spicy so you can appreciate the crust it has. And honestly it was fairly peaceful when I went, which was nice cause I could collect my bearings before going back home. Will definitely recommend in the future!

Fairly priced lunch special but the empanadas didn’t have enough meat inside, in my opinion. They tasted great so if they had more meat I would have been happy with them. Rice and beans portion could have been larger as well.

Food was bland I spent 43 dollars on Uber eats between the food and tips only to be disappointed on the food taste and the way they packaged the food. They did t seal the soda, leaving it vulnerable to anyone opening it and doing God knows what. They could have sealed it with tape or something to show if it was tampered with. I didn’t drink the soda I wasn’t comfortable with the way they didn’t seal it to make me feel safe when drinking it. As you can see this was I threw out pretty much everything

Went in on a sunday around 5p.m. i noticed no one in the kitchen. Two you men there they were super, polite and helpful. The food on the otherhand was horrible. Obviously not fresh. Taken out of display case, mostly rock hard got basic chicken/cheese & beef/cheese it was like eating dog food. Just luke warm mush and over salted couldnt even eat them. They also had obviously not been made recently.

Terrible! I ordered ten empanadas . Nine nada beef and one spinach n feta . They sent ten spinach and feta. This is awful and careless as my son is vegan. When I called they be basically called me a liar. I have proof of the items.

Empanadas are often inconsistent, and underfilled around half the time with large air pockets. Sides are tasty, but drinks are marked up significantly, and in a few cases dishonestly. For example putting their store sticker over the Arizona ice tea can price so you can mark them up to 3 dollars.
For the owner, Arizona does include cans without the 99 cent inclusion, so that would be easier to hide then using a sticker.

Wow, reading some of these reviews and shaking my head. As a small business owner I can tell you it’s impossible to make everyone happy and being from this area, I can also assure you that this is a tough area to please people. People are always wanting something for nothing around here and or complaining about things. I’ve been coming to this location since they opened and also frequent 3 other locations. Every time I’ve come here or the other locations the food is always hot and delicious and the staff are always so nice. People are reviewing that you can get bigger for cheaper in other towns, however, I have had empanadas from those other places and #1 they’re flat out disgusting and tasteless and #2, they’re not PUERTO RICAN! They’re other hispanic cultured flavors which are NOT the same. As a Puerto Rican from Long Island myself and knowing what the authentic flavors are supposed to be like, I assure you that this is probably the only authentic Puerto Rican place left in Suffolk County and their flavors are on point. I highly recommend and I hope they stay around for a long time to come because like I said, it’s the only Puerto Rican place left around here. Dios de bendiga! ❤️

I’ve been looking for an empanada place ever since my favorite spot closed down. Today I decided to try out Island empanada. Ordered a pastelon empanada, pork, and the Philly cheesesteak, as well as some tostones. The pernil empanada was good, the Philly cheesesteak was good, however the pastelon one was disappointing. The meat had no flavor, there was parts that were a little hard and stuck together, not how it normally is. For a pastelon empanada, it had barely any cheese or sweet plantain. For almost $5 and that small size, I would’ve expected something delicious. The tostones were nice and crunchy, cooked to perfection. It’s nice and clean in there , the employees were friendly.

Orderd here for pick up when my in-laws came to visit. Ordered multiple meals with pastelon empanada and received all buffalo chicken! When I called they were close to closing and said I would receive a refund. Never did called back and they offered me a credit different person I was cool with that buy when we went to use it got the run around again. Kept telling me call back different manager. This place sucks biting into buffalo chicken when you ordered beef and cheese and then everyone was the same.
