Every Saturday Shannon and I go to a different place for lunch. We are doing the alphabet lunch. Today we were on “I” and choose Island Coney on Grosse Ile. This is our first time dining at this place and we were not disappointed. Julie was our server and she was absolutely wonderful. She welcomed us for the first time and gave some great recommendations off the menu. We asked if our hash browns could please be well done throughout. As you can see in the picture, the hash browns were perfect. The cooks at this place know how to please their customer and give them exactly what they ask for. We ordered the Western and Country Omelette’s and they were excellent. We give this place a 5 out of 5 stars. We will definitely go back to try something else on their menu

Update Jan 2023: Consistent delicious coneys + fast and friendly service. Dearborn dogs cooked to perfection with crisp casing and juicy inside. Chili cheese fries worth fighting over. Breakfast always yummy & filling. Indoor + outdoor seating.

Stopped here for lunch and enjoyed the delicious tomato basil grilled cheese. The coleslaw was a little sour for my taste. But I was impressed with how good the coffee was for a coney! Our waitress struggled a bit with our checks and the menu was tough to look at but the food was good!

Coney with a small town diner feel. This is one of those places where you just know most of their daily business is from the community, and the staff probably knows most of the customers names.
My waitress was named Julia and she was both witty and pleasant. The service was extremely quick and cashing out was a breeze.
I must go back and visit again in a few weeks. I will update this soon.

It was not crowded when I had breakfast (0930 hrs). The wait staff were attentive and friendly. A trait that is lacking in the post-COVID 19 period. Anyhoo, the food was spot on: poached eggs were right and the extra crispy hash brown were as requested – extra crispy. Bonus. No complaints. Kudos to the cook staff, the unseen force that makes or breaks a review.

Stopped in on my way to my dad’s today. Ordered 2 coney specials. One with cheese and chili ONLY. One with chili cheese n onion ONLY. Both are smothered in mustard

Small restaurant, but excellent food. Staff was friendly, dining area clean and well spaced. Never realized just how big Coney was in Michigan, they are all over the place!

The food is pretty good for the price. I like the cheeseburgers, however the last few times I ordered fries, they were burnt and dry, did not taste good. I hope those were just rare mistakes. Their Greek salad is really good.
However, they DO NOT answer their phone on Fridays. We have tried several times on a few Fridays and gave up, they just do not accept phone calls or maybe too busy.
