My partner and I stopped into Island Breeze for lunch and were immediately welcomed with friendly service and classic Bob Marley vibes, which we loved. He ordered the oxtails and I had the brown stew chicken over rice and peas. We also tried the collard greens, plantains, steamed cabbage, and mac and cheese and loved every bite. The beef patties were hot and fresh, and you could really tell they take pride in their cooking. The flavors hit the spot and we cannot wait to come back and try more items!

This is definitely a hidden gem. The fried chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. The oxtails were better than I had in Jamaica. They were succulent and tender. AMAZING!!!! Husband has the curry goat that was also excellent. Don’t forget to get one of the homemade sweet treats.

I tried the jerk chicken dinner at this family owned Jamaican restaurant. The service was great, and the food was amazingly delicious!! The portions are large and the cost is very reasonable. You can get a delicious and healthy meal for the same cost of a burger and fries.

This place has the best Ox Tails in Kentucky. I have been to several other Jamaican Restaurants and they don’t compare. The veggies are flavored. This is authentic island food. Try everything! Plantains are cooked nice and not too sweet. The macaroni and cheese is creamy and cooked just right. You gotta have the rice and beans and don’t skip on the gravy. The Jerk flavor is the BUSINESS! ☆☆☆☆☆

Small but wonderful Jamaican restaurant near Clifton in Louisville. Fantastic food quality at very reasonable prices. Their seasoning is right on point, and the quality of the oxtail, rib tips, and jerk chicken is unmatched! The gravies, stews and Jamaican patties are just what Louisville has needed for the last 10 years. Don’t sleep on this place, they are going somewhere great!

Great food at a reasonable price! The sorrel hibiscus drink was flowery as expected. My partner said it was some of the best chicken he’s had. I didn’t get a picture of the Jamaican patty, but it’s worth getting if they aren’t sold out. Expect to get your hands dirty – the jerk chicken and rib tips have bones, as I expect most of the meat options do. Don’t miss out on the mac and cheese, which has a very unique flavor.
