If you ever visit Florida, you’ve got to try some Caribbean/Jamaican food! Whenever I’m in town, I hunt for that ultimate comfort food, and Island Basket certainly delivered this time. I got the goat, and my partner had the brown stew chicken—it was so good, I almost finished the entire thing! The place was super clean and had a nice selection of groceries alongside the food, making it a great one-stop shop. The lunch prices were really good, too! On top of that, the customer service was fantastic—everyone was friendly and helpful. If you’re in the area, make sure to give them a try, mon! You won’t be disappointed!

Ordered a small stew peas with salt fish fritters these folks gave me whatever they wanted which was brown stew chicken and rice which isn’t good at all and y’all gave me a patty instead of my fritters it taste good but like really can’t even get what you payed for no adays !

And also bough a curry chicken and the bone is red not cook properly gonna stick to my Bull Top Taste only went there because it’s closer to my home but I’ll drive 30 mins to Bull Top Taste when I’m not in the mood to cook. Won’t be back

I decided to take a chance on this place and was horribly disappointed. I ordered oxtail and jerk chicken with rice and peas and plantains. The rice and peas was very dry and tasted as if it came out of a microwave after being heated up. The jerk chicken looked and tasted like baked chicken without jerk seasoning and had no taste. The oxtail as well looked like it was heated up in a microwave as it was dry with no sauce.
My thought; it would appear that this was leftover from the previous day which is why it looked heated up in a microwave. The food was taken from the back where there is no visibility into what they were doing back there.
I also had to wait over 20 minutes for them to get me the food even though I was the only one there at the time.
This would only confirm my suspicion that they were reheating old food.
FYI, I had to throw away the food as it was not edible.
I would advise folks to keep away from buying food here.

First stop when I get off the road from GA! The food is always fresh! You can tell when someone cooks with love and passion, opposed to someone that rush! THS FOOD FEEDS YOUR SOUL! Super flavorful & must i say the service is always top tier. Make you feel like you’re coming to family house to get dinner except you pay lol. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Went there a week ago on Saturday around 6 and ordered a small jerk chicken went back to work open the plate to see 3 small cube pieces of chicken and some cold rice had to go back to the restaurant for the lady to tell me thats not wat she gave me wont be coming here again

Mr. Ashton is always pleasant. The flavor of the food is spectacular. We’ve tried the Mannish Wata, Ackee & Saltfish, Stew Peas, Chicken & Roti and bought several beverages from this place. Had no idea this place was here after all these years. I’ve tried several establishments but the flavor here soothes my soul. Definitely will tell my friends about this place. Thank you Ashton!!!
