BUENO!! After 10 m months of waiting and remodeling Isla Del Encanto is back open!! It’s bigger (they expanded to the unit next door and BETTER than ever!! I loved the new full service Bar they included in the remodel, and I couldn’t get over the floor. Not sure how they did it but you gotta check it out. Oh Yes the FOOD. New menu with lots of new items on the menu along with the old favorites, I had Mofongo with churrasco and shrimp and it was fabulous! And my girlfriend Mofongo with shrimp with garlic sauce on the side. They were both great – just enough without filling us up too much – but there wasn’t anything left on our plates. We’ve been waiting for Isla Del Encanto to open back up – and the wait was worth it. New space, new décor, and the same great Puerto Rican cooking that made them one of our favorites. They told us they have live Music o Fridays, and looking forward to their grand re-opening on SuperBowl weekend. WELCOME BACK Isla Del Encanto – we’re glad you’re open again. If you haven’t tried the food here, you need to try Isla Del Encanto 12850 SW 120th Street. You’ll be glad you did –Even this Gringo loved the food here….!

If you’re craving a little Puerto Rican escape without leaving Miami, Isla del Encanto delivers exactly that. From the moment you walk in, the vibe feels warm, lively, and full of flavor — colorful décor, Latin music playing, and that comforting aroma of authentic island cooking.
The food is packed with sabor. Everything tastes homemade and soulful, from the perfectly seasoned mofongo to the tender pernil and fresh seafood dishes. The portions are generous, and you can tell the recipes are rooted in tradition. Even the arroz, tostones, and sweet plantains are done just right.
The cocktails keep the energy fun and festive — tropical, refreshing, and the perfect pairing to the bold flavors coming out of the kitchen.
But here’s the must-order: the flan. I was told it’s made in-house by the owner, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It’s spectacular — not overly sweet, not flat in flavor, just perfectly balanced with that smooth, creamy texture and rich caramel top. It’s one of those desserts you keep thinking about after you leave.
Service is warm and welcoming — you feel like family, not just another table. Whether it’s date night, brunch with friends, or a celebration dinner, Isla del Encanto brings Puerto Rico to Miami in the most delicious way.
Authentic, vibrant, and unforgettable — and yes, save room for that flan. ✨

This week, we dined at this restaurant on two occasions, and the food was consistently delicious. Although my rating was 4 stars, I found the mondongo and pernil to be slightly too salty. However, the rice, mofongo, and bacalaitos were all of high quality including the meats which were juicy and tender. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The menu provides a good range of choices, which I liked, and the prices are fair. Moreover, the cafe con leche was excellent.

Liliana was hands down one of the best servers we’ve ever had attentive, friendly, and on point the entire time. She made us feel welcomed from start to finish and really elevated the whole dining experience.
The chuleta kan kan mofongo was absolutely delicious perfectly cooked, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And the lemonade? Out of this world. Seriously one of the best I’ve had.
On top of that, the remodeling came out really nice. The place looks refreshed, modern, and inviting. You can tell a lot of thought went into the upgrades.
Highly recommend we’ll definitely be back!

The food was delicious, and Josue, the waitress, was incredibly friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and presentation of the dishes, and it felt like we were in Puerto Rico. The coqui sound when you enter the restroom was a delightful touch. I’ll definitely be returning soon.

This place is a gem. The ambiance is beautiful, the food is truly authentic to our island, and it always feels like a little taste of home when we’re missing it. Patty, our usual waitress, is such a doll and makes every visit even better.
