Isahana japanese steakhouse and sushi

  3.3 – 15 reviews   • Traditional restaurant

Isahana is a family restaurant born from the dreams and experiences of Chef Joe. Wilson is our home, and it is not in our plans to leave it without what we know to do best: cook. Isahana on Raleigh Road is the biggest project of our lives; therefore, it requires a lot of time and effort on our side to be able to offer our clients, family, and friends the best of our ability. Isahana on Raleigh Road is coming. We don’t want to give a specific date because, as has often been happening, something is bound to come up. Just know, it is coming. Thank you for your support.

Me and my significant other went into the restaurant about a week ago, we order some drinks at lunchtime. They said they were too busy after 30 minutes to even give us an our drinks, so that we had to drink pretty much water because no alcoholic beverages were going to be sold. Also, they had no miso soup and no salad whatsoever know if that’s one of your main things that go with everything when you take a Restaurant would be prepared since it was only 11:45 in the morning. I’m only guessing the manager came over to bring our appetizer which came after our meal and said that this was for the fact that they messed up and still charged us for it and we said nothing we just paid for everything and left. The Worst Japanese Restaurant I’ve ever been to in my whole entire life.

To be fair, this is a new restaurant and they rushed to open it and it shows in atmosphere, appearance and experience. Give it another month or two to get things right and looking better. The food was good.

Ok this place has gotten alittle better since they first opened. We didn’t have the best experience when they first opened. It was just kinda chaotic which was understandable at first bc you could tell no one really new what they were doing. But it was okay at first. It did take us 50 minutes after our entrees that we prdered to get our sushi which we had to ask about it 3 times. It kinda seemed like no one understood what we were ordering. Lol and yes we just blew it off bc they were new and learning.

Sorry I couldn’t wait to try my take out order of Maki C (cooked) from the Sushi Bar side of the menu to take a foodie pic!! Let me just tell you….OMG it was delicious and so worth wait!!! If you’re a sushi novice… having a grab-n-go California Roll from the grocery store…go treat yourself! The price might seem a bit high, but considering the amount of food…come on! The rolls are twice the thickness, if not more, of those scrawny prepackaged things!! The girls working the take out counter are friendly and can answer any questions you might have. Since I was a walk-in, just after 5PM, & my rolls were cooked, it took about 20 minutes, or so, to get my order in hand. From all of the orders bagged up and waiting, plus the phone nearly ringing off the hook, IF you want to grab take-home, I suggest checking out the menu online, and calling 30 minutes ahead of your showing up. I can’t really comment on the atmosphere, other than the aesthetics, because it was early in the week, at the start of dinner service, and there were only a handful of tables seated. From what I saw, hence the 4 Stars (for now), it’s clean, well lit, and slightly sports bar-ish with a different game on each of the tv’s and a pool table towards the back. It wasn’t loud like at B Dubs, but even with a full house I doubt it would be. With the exception on some nights because….There’s also room for entertainment. No spoilers, go and check it out yourself!! Be sure to visit the Sushi Bar and watch your meal be prepared right in front of you if you have the time to sit, relax, and enjoy a cocktail!

I ordered hibachi trio meat with steak chicken and shrimp I only got 4 shrimp when I ask the waitress how many shrimp should come with the trio she varified it with manager and that is all you get. REALLY I have been to several Japanese restaurants that give you more shrimp . Also the rice did not taste like fried rice and it did not have eggs in it . I got sweet and spicy wings those were great. If you’re going to charge 15.00 for a trip make it make sense .

It wasn’t authentic Japanese food. I’ll continue to visit Sappari in Greenville or Kanki in Raleigh.
