Seeking dark skies for some sky watching, we headed west on highway 24 and ended up in Florissant. We arrived early and to our surprise learned that this tiny town has its own brewery – who knew?
We sampled the shaggin’ wagon and let’s boogie brews and they were delicious. We spoke with one of the owners who shared that all the food (beautiful looking cakes included) were all handmade. We had an order of the hand cut fries and they were perfectly seasoned and portioned.
They close at 6p due to staffing challenges, but if you’re passing through and need to take a break, I strongly recommend stopping in.

Pretty phenomenal food even for someone from a big city. Can’t say enough, I only wish we were here longer, I would’ve loved to try more things here. The best value alpha is my highest recommendation for the blueberry lemon French toast and the breakfast potatoes. Out of this world delicious.

Excellent food, and the staff is top-notch. Be aware that they do close at 6 pm. We went twice, once for dinner, once for Sunday brunch, and both times were super impressed. The pictures are from brunch chicken biscuit, breakfast tacos, breakfast burrito, and chicken & waffles.

What a gem! This places has a great environment and friendly staff. There is great music playing and a patio to enjoy if you like. Wonderful beer selection with funky names and a menu to rival any roadhouse or pub. Excellent meats and great salads too. The flatbread has something of a focaccia crust and was very tasty. We will be back for sure!

Stumbled upon this place and the food was excellent! I had the chicken & waffles and it was amazing! The service was quick and friendly waiter. Only one suggestion, lower the music inside and we might’ve sat inside. But, the patio was nice!

The end of my family road trip brought us on a whim to this place. Best decision! I dig the atmosphere, the food, even the house-made ketchup. I will be coming back!

Worth the drive? What a surprise gem of the rockies. Most food made from scratch according to the waiter. I would cast my vote to support that statement. The homemade tortillas chips are probably the best I have had. The Cuban sandwich was amazing and pressed like a panini. The goat cheese side salad was delicious and complimented my meal or get the chili smothered fries as a side and you will not be disappointed. I had a bite of the beer cheese burger and this would go well with a flight of beer. The staff are very friendly and add to the atmosphere of the place. Looking forward to bringing the entire family here. Highly recommend.

Staying around here for our honeymoon, wanted to stay as local as we could. Add this place to your list. The service was impeccable. While the lone server literally ran around table to table, he made sure to check on how everything was often. The food is some of the best I’ve had. Finding out everything is made from scratch, you really taste it in the food. The pig and fig and margarita flatbread, wow. The crust to the toppings, the pesto made that morning and delicious figs, just wow. And get the “Let’s Boogie” beer. Best I’ve had in Colorado. Outstanding mango margarita, wings are top-notch, cheese curds were amazing. Please do yourself a favor and visit the Iron Tree.

In house baked pretzel bun. Hand formed patty, big pieces of good bacon, perfectly grilled onions and a big portion of homemade beer cheese soup on top. Ooey gooey pile of the best tasting food around. Baked in house chips or fries to go with it. Just wonderful food that makes going back over and over again a delight!

2/25. Still absolutely amazing!

We stopped in at this quirky little dive on our way back to our Airbnb. It was the best hamburger I have ever had. The chicken sandwich was good as well. It seems like everything they had was made fresh; bread, ketchup, fries, etc. Beer was amazing as well. They took a lot of time with their menu and it was a gourmet tasting meal. Great little patio as well. Definitely worth a stop!
