This is one of the best places we’ve eaten at in long time. The restaurant was very clean, our waitress was very attentive to our needs. We both were exhausted from our travels and still had 70 miles to our destination. Tired and hungry I searched maps and not far from exit 100 we pulled in. Our order was amazing. We were so impressed by the food that the Iron Skillet is #1 on our list. We plan that if we are within 75 miles from the Iron Skillet we will find our way there. We recommend this restaurant for any time of day, for Great service, Great Food in a very clean place.

Great breakfast! Our server was really nice and kept hot coffee on the table. Its quiet inside but we appreciated it on a Saturday morning. Pancakes were delish and the eggs were fresh. Good way to start your day.

Waited well over an hour for our food (no communication about the delay) and then the order was visibly not right. I was very disappointed, but couldn’t catch the server’s attention and I wasn’t going to wait another hour for it to be fixed, so I just picked around it and wasted half the meal. Drinks sat empty for 20 minutes without being noticed. Then another 15 minutes after that. Our server was the manager and she was nice enough, but she was rushed, stressed, harried, and running her butt off. Appeared they were extremely shorthanded. For at least half an hour, the manager was the only person we caught a glimpse of – the only server – and the place was pretty busy. I guess everyone else must have gone on break at the same time. Did nobody think about this being a Trade Days weekend as well as a car show?

The waitress brought a menu and took my drink order then returned within a minute with my drink and asked if I was ready to order.. I said give me a minute to look at the menu.. meanwhile 2 other people came and she waited on them including taking their orders before she came back to take mine.. so I had to wait even longer before my food was ready.. I ordered the hamburger steak with brown gravy and the patty was way overdone.. also ordered the cheese potatoes and they came with the white breakfast gravy on them under the cheese.. which didn’t go well with the brown gravy but I didn’t know because it doesn’t tell you that on the menu.. anyway mediocre meal at best and it’s not inexpensive.. I tried the breakfast here this morning and it took 15 minutes before I was waited on and the sausage is not regular breakfast sausage.. it’s turkey or Soy or something and it was over overcooked.. then I waited another 15 minutes for my bill after I finished.. the biggest problem is only one waitress.. don’t eat here unless you have at least an hour and a half.. plan on spending over $20 for your meal with tip..

Had breakfast here. Ordered a grilled porkchop breakfast with eggs, hash browns and pancakes. The pancakes were delightful, fluffy and flavorful. The porkchop was over cooked, only came with one. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried steak w/gravy that came with 2 eggs, hashbrowns and a biscuit. The gravy was tasty as was the chicken fried steak. Food wasn’t bad. Service was medicore. I would try here again but it’s not a place I just have to have in regular rotation.

We moved to McCalla in 2017. We ate there a couple times and didn’t go back for years! Well we ate there today 9/14/25 after church today and there’s a reason we haven’t been back since 2017. Highly overpriced for a breakfast that was below subpar. Took way too long to get our food as well, husband and I agreed we won’t be going back again which totally stinks because we want so desperately to have a breakfast place or regular restaurant in the area close to our home. 20 dollars a person for a badly done breakfast just ain’t gonna cut it for us
