The Iron Rail in Woodsville never misses. From the moment you walk in, it’s all good vibes—friendly staff, a comfortable atmosphere, and ice-cold brews that always hit just right. The weekly specials are chef’s kiss and give you plenty of reasons to keep coming back.

My husband and I stopped on a whim to have a meal before we return to camping. I worked in hospitality many years ago, The waitress, Barbara, was energetic and delightful. Whoever the wednesday luncheon chef was, he/she was spot on. I had a steak with onion rings and seasonal squash. It was Cooked to perfection. My spouse had Beer battered fried Haddock, served with french fries and Coleslaw. All the fried food was excellent. Not greasy or unpalatable. Cocktails were good as expected. Not heavy handed, nor lacking. We camp nearby annually and we’ll put this on our list of places to revisit. We hope to see Barbara again she was delightful. UPDATE: Returned for another meal about 2weeks later. This time, I had the Fish n Chips, and hubbie had the Salmon which was drizzled with a Balsamic glaze. Excellent again and so was our favorite waitress, Barbara. Be sure to tip her well!

Great outdoor fenced in area. We enjoyed a wonderful relaxed lunch with our dogs in the sun with plenty of shade.
The staff came out frequently to take care of us, and brought a bucket of water for our dogs, and also bacon!
We enjoyed a juicy burger cooked perfectly medium rare. Along with delicious IPAs and Pale Ales.
The bartender and staff were outstanding!

The food was really good, I’ve been here a couple times now. My favorite is easily the cheese curds with a maple bourbon sauce. Good portion sizes, and reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and attentive, a decent selection for drinks. The cocktails I’ve had there have been quite strong compared to other places I’ve been. The layout of the place is a little strange, particularly the restroom location, but it’s rustic and feels comfy and historic. I’ll likely keep coming here when I’m in the area

I just moved to the area and this was a great little spot. I’m in a wheelchair and called to make sure it was accessible as I wasn’t sure from Google. The guy who answered the phone was super helpful and polite. We found out there is a little elevator for the front steps which is great. The food was very good, the beer was EXCELLENT and the service was perfect without being over-bearing. I am very glad this place is a new nearby spot for me. I will be visiting again soon!

Food was great. Got the fried scallop basket, comes with fries and coleslaw. Got home, no coleslaw BUT, the portion of scallops was great and they were cooked perfectly. That made up for the lack of the coleslaw as i was looking forward to that but hey, the scallops made up for it

We are out of staters. It’s a comfy bar atmosphere. Food was really good. We had burgers, chili, grilled cheese and bacon. Service was good. I would go here in a regular basis.

Fun lil’ spot. Staff was attentive and friendly. Even when there was a problem with the bill, it was quickly handled and corrected. The food was definitely good, even though we took it to go.

Clean and fun place to dine, I had to wait for 2 drink refills but the food more than made up for that. Went on a double date and we all ate great food and everything was made the way we all asked for… gets a lil loud once everyone in there gets to talking, no one was annoying so all good.
