I was part of a party of 18, we were upstairs. Our waiter, Sam I think was his name – he was FANTASTIC! He went above and beyond his call of duty. The food was excellent. I had fish tacos and they were the best I have had in a long time.

French Onion soup was delicious, they used Rye bread & Swiss and that combo was a flavor explosion. The steak sandwich was cooked and seasoned perfectly and that Sriracha aoli was solid. Will eat here again

Worst Customer Service Ever
As regular customers of the Iron Horse, and I’m talking once a week minimum, we were astounded on Sunday March 1st when our request to start the gas stove in the atrium was denied. Four times. The temperature was 60 degrees at 11am, maybe. We were told no fireplace because it got too hot the day before. Fine. “Please turn it on to take the chill out of the air.”
No” was the answer.” With no reasonable explanation.
If you don’t want people to sit in that area, fine, close it off. But don’t tell four people who have been meeting there at the same table for three years on Sundays that you won’t turn on the gas stove when it’s 60 degrees in that room.
So we left and went to a different restaurant. And will for the foreseeable future, UNTIL MAYBE, we get an apology. You know who we are.
We have already shared this story with three other groups of people we spoke to and it’s not even been 24 hours. With numerous Missoula restaurants closing and for sale, the Iron Horse can’t afford to treat customers poorly. Certainly not acquaintances of the owner who have been eating there frequently since the restaurant opened.

This place has awesome food!! Everything is cook to perfection, and is super delicious . I really recommend the Bison Burger! The buns are buttery and savory, the meat was moist and super lean, and I love the onions they put on it. Oh, and the parmesan, oh heck all the appetizers are super yummy!! So, I really recommend the Iron Horse.

I had the halibut tacos. Unfortunately, the ratio of fish to slaw was off. There was twice as much slaw as fish. The slaw was good, but it overwhelmed the fish. I would give it 3 stars. I read the rave reviews about the salmon blt and it didn’t disappoint. I would give it 5 stars. Service was a little slow and it was difficult to get our server’s attention after she served our food. The restaurant atmosphere was pleasant, but quite chilly.

The location is good. The vibes are nice. Servers nice.
The onion soup very salty. The burger quite tasty. The lemonade good. The pita bread simple. The olives not the best. There was a small unpleasant surprise with one of the water glasses as it still had stains what it seemed to be lipstick. I think overall a 3* should be the actual value of our experience here.
