Love coming to this place for a bite. They have a fabulous limited lunch menu at a discount. Their dinner menus is really good as well. Would definitely recommend this place. Can get busy at certain times in the evening.

Was my first time eating here. I enjoyed the food. The brisket was my favorite along with the spicy beef.

I’m pretty sure that most of the people that complain about getting sick from the food here don’t know how to cook. Give this place a try, it’s a cheaper option and the quality of the meats/ flavors are really good. The wait times can be long and the service can use some work, but this is our go-to spot.

It was our first time there and we was trying to the enjoy the all you can eat spot for team bonding as we came for a big conference. We didn’t get the experience that we expected. The cooking plate grill is really small so it’s tough to cook for a big group. Would rather them suggested two tables and put them together so we could have two cooking grills instead of one. So it cook forever to cook food for a table of 8 people.

My first time ever in Chicago and first thing I ate there. Left a sour taste in my mouth. The host/ waiter didn’t help. Made the service the worst by being condescending to my team when it came to cooking the food. The scissors are weak and brittle so it was real tough to cut and cook the meats took forever. Learned the hard way about the chicken couldn’t even enjoy that too.

Extremely disappointing experience for our team’s first time at Iron Age.

We were in Chicago for a major conference and chose Iron Age Korean Steakhouse for a team bonding dinner. Unfortunately, it ended up being the worst dining experience of our trip — and for many of us, our first impression of Chicago food.

We had a group of 8 people, and instead of accommodating us properly, the staff seated us at a single table with only one small cooking grill. For an all-you-can-eat KBBQ spot, this made no sense. It took forever to cook enough food for everyone, and no one even suggested the obvious solution of using two connected tables to provide an extra grill.

On top of that, the host and waiter were condescending and unhelpful throughout the night. Instead of guiding us through the experience (which was new to some of us), they made it uncomfortable and frustrating. The scissors were weak and barely worked, making it incredibly difficult to cut the meats properly. Cooking the chicken especially was a struggle — and we learned the hard way that it’s not an easy or enjoyable process here.

All in all, the service was poor, the tools were inadequate, and the overall vibe left a sour taste in our mouths — literally and figuratively. Would not recommend for large groups or first-timers. Definitely expected better from a place with this much hype.

My goal was to showcase as one of the go to spots for a tourist to come visit this location. I would suggest that u stay away from this location.

I’m writing this review with great disappointment about our experience last night.

My two friends and I (all girls, so we didn’t order a huge amount) had dinner here. We were first-time customers and ordered pork, beef, and squid. Initially, everything seemed fine, and we were even chatting at the table after finishing our meal.

Then, I started feeling intense stomach pain and had to rush to the restroom with diarrhea. The worst part? It wasn’t just me. Soon, all three of us were experiencing the same symptoms. We spent the entire night suffering from severe diarrhea, which completely ruined our next day, including our work.

The fact that all of us got sick confirms that the issue was with the food here. To think we waited in line for an hour for this outcome is just adding insult to injury. I am utterly disappointed and will never return

I’ve been to Iron Age many times before, especially the Glenview location, and always had a great experience—until I came to this one. The food here was clearly old and spoiled. The color of the meat was off compared to what I’ve had at the other location, and it looked expired. I still tried to eat, but I ended up throwing up when I went to wash my hands. It was that bad. This place is nothing like the Glenview one, and I strongly recommend going there instead. This location is not worth it at all.

The worst part is that after eating so little of it I still got sick and even if you see the color of the Bulgogi that is in the plate it’s very brown and as far as the steaks, they were very tough to chew and it had a smell and I believe that’s what made me sick never going to this location again I’d rather drive 40 mins away to go to the Glenview one

Love, love, love this place! It was my second time in Chicago, I ate here the first time I visited, and I decided to bring my entire family the second time. Iron Age, Korean steakhouse did not disappoint!
We got there during the dinner rush, there were already a lot of people waiting when we got there, but they gave us a table real quick, under 10 minutes.
Right away the table what’s up, they give you some oil and salt and chili sauce for your meat with some sides. We ordered several items on the menu, I don’t know if the portions were big the first time I came, but the portions were humongous. It wasn’t a problem, but we didn’t get to try that many items on the menu because we were full with the first round of meat we ordered. wish the portions could’ve been smaller. Our server was friendly, but didn’t return to the table that often. The atmosphere was really nice, the music was really great. The food was delicious. Just like the first time, my belly was satisfied. I love Korean barbecue, and this place knows how to separate really well. Highly recommend you make sure the portion they are giving you is for 1 to 2 people, depending on your group. If it’s too big of a portion, let your server know if it’s too much and they’ll take it off the table.
They do have a policy, where if you order too much, and do not eat it, they will fine you by charging you extra. You cannot take food to-go.

Overall the place was a good experience and the food was delicious. I would go back but there were a few things that would cause me to potentially want to try somewhere else to test out the competition. Firstly, refilling drinks should not be the thing that the table longs for. Secondly, the gratuity/service fee for a larger party lacked transparency. The wording makes it seem as if it is not the gratuity charge when in fact it is. When asked, even an employee could not answer to what the “service fee” was, when in fact it was the gratuity. If this is your way of milking more tips out of customers then I’d say it is a little unethical in the way it is displayed/communicated.

It was a perfect place to eat kbbq as a Korean.
The server’s attitude and service was good based on what they said to us and changing the grill every time we cook our meat. The price was reasonable since it was 29 dollars per person and you can eat how much ever you like for 2 hours. Please go to this place! This place is fantastic!!

All you can eat and cook your own food at the table. Meat is well seasoned and flavorful and the dipping sauces are very good.

Price is very reasonable for what you get. I think the only knock I’d have on it would be how loud it can get over dinner hours.
