Have eaten at IBP a few times before. It is a great restaurant in an old building with plenty of character.
Just a heads up, though, if you’re wanting to eat corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day there, you better get there early when they open, or else you will start having wait times exceeding an hour or more.
For an appetizer, we had the corned beef cabbage eggrolls, and they were awesome. Came with 1000 island dressing to dip them in.
My mom had a shepards pie and she said it was very tasteful, but had more mashed potatoes on top than any of the filling at the bottom. She was slightly disappointed in this.
I had the bangers and mash. The sausage was cooked well and the mashed potatoes were fluffy and had plenty of gravy and I even asked for extra gravy. Everything was very flavorful.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant

Had a wonderful experience today at the bar with Carla. Was suggested great drink options which was wonderful. She also recommended the may tag chips, fried green tomato’s and the Rubin egg rolls. Which was all amazing.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Irish Bred Pub in Opelika! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel right at home. They were not only friendly but also attentive throughout our visit, which made the whole evening even more enjoyable.
The food was fantastic, every bite was flavorful, fresh, and cooked to perfection. It’s rare to find a place where both the atmosphere and the menu deliver such a great experience, but the Irish Bred Pub does exactly that.

We’ve visited Irish Bred Pub on several occasions and have really enjoyed it. The ambience is typical of an Irish Pub. There is plentiful seating and a large bar area. This past visit we went because my daughter wanted beer battered fish and chips. It didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and the service here is wonderful. I highly recommend giving it a try if you are in the area. I recommend an earlier dinner if you go on the weekend and don’t like waiting. But, should you find yourself on the waitlist, the bar tenders are very fast and attentive. Grab a drink while you wait, because it is worth the wait.

Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. Server was nice. But he did not check on us after he delivered the food had to ask someone else for drinks. I recommend the reuben egg rolls. Had the bbq burger which was good. Wife had the chicken lassie which she enjoyed. It just need an aioli of some sort to cut the dryness a little.

Such an enjoyable atmosphere in this place. Great server/waitress. Very attentive and nice. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, fish and chips, and the shepherd’s pie. The fried green tomatoes had a beautiful presentation and would have been the best we have ever had but they were so laden with pepper that it literally choked me. But the breading of the tomatoes was superior. The fish and chips were delicious. The shepherd’s pie was good, would have been excellent….but again, the pepper was too much as was the salt. We ordered the key lime pie and the bread pudding. Both were delicious.

This was our first visit. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. It came out hot and delicious. I had the Irish mule to drink, and my guy had a draft beer. For our entrees, I had the fish and chips, and my guy had the shepards pie. The only complaint was Lee County Cole slaw. It was just cabbage with no kind of dressing. We will come back for the live music soon. I would recommend this restaurant to family and friends and the old downtown area is gorgeous.

Normally we have an okayish experience here. They have a lot of potential, but overall am left with the impression of a cheaper experience. The waiter tonight didn’t offer once to refill our waters the entire time, though the glasses sat there empty for the duration of dinner. I’d understand if they were busy, but they were not busy at all. We ordered over $100 of items and had two of the worst old fashioneds we’ve ever had. They were very, very watered down, yet we were charged full price for the two, even though they asked us if they were good and we gave honest feedback. Just underwhelming.

We went for lunch and the food and atmosphere was nice. The burger that my son had was actually cooked medium rare and not well done. He was thrilled. My husband has the salmon sandwich and said it was really good. I had the crab cake sandwich which was just ok. A lot of bread for the crab cake for me. They have been here before and had the fish and chips and said that was fantastic. I gave a 4 star because of the crab cakes. Service was good and they were very nice.
