I basically go here at least once a week. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are amazing. I tend to alternate between multiple coffee shops in Raleigh. When it comes to Iris, I think its great that they have great interior, baristas, and selection of food. They rotate their coffee espresso at times, so it’s cool checking in and seeing what they have brewing. Definitely recommend a mocha, matcha, or their seasonal drinks.

Iris was quite the experience. We had heard such great things! Beautiful ambiance- food was delicious- we had the special bagel of the day. The pour over was delicious and perhaps not my favorite blend but definitely left me wanting to come back to try something else!

My boyfriend and I are going on a self created coffee crawl and this was the first spot on our list. We got the Butterscotch bourbon latte and the jasmine mini matcha. Both were incredible and some of the best matcha/lattes I’ve ever had!! Would recommend!

On a side note, those who come here for working may have a hard time finding a spot to sit and the noise level is a little loud. To me the coffee and matcha outweigh that :))

From the second I walked in, I knew this place was different. The vibe hits you right away, clean white interior, almost like a modern hideaway basement, paired with chill, hipster-jazzy music humming through the space with this warm, full bass. It felt creative, relaxed, and just effortlessly cool.

The room smelled like fresh food, plants everywhere, and college kids tucked into corners doing homework. It instantly feels like somewhere you want to stay awhile.

My coffee came first, hand delivered by a young guy with a mustache who carried it over like it was something sacred. No rush, no attitude just humble, smooth service. And the coffee? Perfect.

But the real star of the show: the avocado toast. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best I’ve ever had. When they brought it out, it was literally dripping with honey in the best way possible. Every bite was insane. The toppings came together like a masterpiece: creamy avocado, tangy feta, peppery arugula, fresh red onions, and this kiss of balsamic that tied everything together.

Me and my girl were honestly surprised at how good it was. We ended up talking about it the whole time because it’s rare something simple is done that perfectly.

I never sprint to leave reviews ever but this spot earned it.
It’s officially my new favorite place.

If you haven’t been, go. And get the avocado toast. Trust me.

**Special shout out to the staff of coolest bros.

This coffee shop is 100% true to the craft. Had a great convo with Aiden and his knowledge was exceptional. Besides the regular cafe latte, the jasmine mini matcha was a great option ☕️

This is the best specialty coffee that I’ve had anywhere in the area thus far. The beans they are working with here (boxes are for sale) are truly top notch. The barista I spoke with today was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Small indoor seating area that was busy with friends meeting up for coffee, laptop users, etc. Highly recommend stopping by this hidden gem.

Personal touches like shown in the photo here for the ginger/earl gray matcha drink are what makes this place so special. Absolutely delicious drinks and inventive flavors. Tried the jasmine matcha drink on a separate visit and was equally as blown away. Everything is made masterfully. Highly recommend stopping by!!!

Where to begin with iris coffee lab? The ordering experience was streamlined, and there was ample indoor and outdoor seating.
Unfortunately, this is probably because the chairs were the equivalent of sitting on a guitar pick. The rest of the decor similarly resembled a mid-century modern insane asylum.
All this is child’s play compared to the drinks. I was hoping they would redeem the experience. I was rooting for you, iris coffee lab. The matcha left me wanting more. I couldn’t taste even a whisper of matcha flavoring, and the price was laughable for a glass of green milk. When my flat white arrived, I felt that twinkle return to my eye. Sadly, about 3 sips later, as I neared the end of my beverage I was shocked to discover a texture component I was not expecting. After a lot of contemplation, I have decided I am not a fan of coffee grounds swirling around my mouth.
The customers are hip and trendy, the employees exceedingly friendly and speedy, the drinks bespoke and innovative, but I think we need to cut out the frills and go back to the basics. Why play 3D chess when you’ve yet to master tic tac toe? I think the experience was net neutral, but for how steep the pricing is, I feel it’s my duty to let the world know what they’re getting into.

Atmosphere was nice and the service was super friendly. Great vibe. However there’s ambiguous pricing and it’s pretty expensive. Got the cappuccino and it was decent!

I ordered the seasonal coconut drink because the mango sticky rice drink was out of stock. The portion size was very small for the price, which was over $7. It barely had any liquid and came with a giant cube of ice. They had run out of plastic cold to-go cups and gave me a hot beverage cup instead. The drink tasted sour, did not taste like coconut at all, and was not enjoyable. I would not order from here again.
