The first time I visited Inman Perk was 6 years ago during the first week that I just moved to Georgia. I was really drawn then to the welcoming and cozy aesthetic in a new and unfamiliar state. The interior has changed somewhat, but overall has kept that same inviting atmosphere. I feel like the coffee here matches their aesthetic well. It’s not a very sharp or overwhelmingly bold flavor profile. Even their espressos I’ve had are a little milder with a smooth and warm finish. I personally love their cortado for this. They definitely know how to keep things exciting though with new seasonal drinks and creative combinations that they come up with regularly. I was helped by Luca today, and they really made the whole experience special. After my coffee didn’t come out as I hoped for, they made a fresh one for me that went beyond my expectations! People like Luca really make all the difference not just in a business, but in people’s lives. Thank you so much for being so amazing, Luca! I truly appreciate the standard of quality Inman Perk upkeeps. I’ll definitely be returning!

Is this a high security prison or a coffee shop? There was a camera that would literally move to follow you as you put creamer in your coffee. Felt more than a little invasive.

Baristas looked unhappy, weren’t overly friendly, heavy metal music playing at 0900 in the morning. Weird vibe.

Traditional grilled cheese and Fresh Start Latte were great. Ordered the grilled cheese on sourdough. I asked if it was real sourdough and was happily told it was real, handcrafted sourdough ordered daily from a local bakery. It was great – crispy, cheesy, and warm.

Loved the dimly lit/natural light seating they had at the front of the shop (different lighting and seating in other spots if you want).

Great experience. Will probably start coming at least once a week.

We found Inman Coffee and decided to try it out. They had several sugar-free syrups, and the coffee was great. I had a hot cider that was excellent, and the brownies were amazing! They were warm and gooey and tasted great. The location was nice right on the square. There was nice seating outside. The service was quick and friendly. We will be back next time we are in town.

Hands down the best coffee and breakfast spot in Gainesville!
We’ve lived in Gainesville for six years and have tried all the new coffee shops that have popped up around the Square recently.
While the new spots are fine, we decided to revisit Inman today, and loved it. In our opinion, they’re still the best coffee shop in town and are a top brunch spot too.
First, the coffee quality is on another level. You can really taste the pride they take in selecting their beans. I ordered the “Fresh Start” latte with coconut milk, and it was easily the best latte I’ve had in Gainesville. They also have the most impressive selection of non-dairy options I’ve seen. Most places only carry oat or almond, so finding coconut milk was a huge win for me. They also have a massive coffee menu with specialty items I haven’t seen elsewhere, like a Breve! My husband got an iced mocha and a panini and absolutely loved both.
Second, the food menu is incredible, especially if you have dietary restrictions. I have gluten and dairy sensitivities, and usually, my options are limited. Inman has the biggest gluten-free menu in the area—GF muffins, brownies, and actual GF bread options. I got the avocado toast on gluten-free bread topped with scrambled eggs. The bread was delicious, the avocado was fresh, and the eggs were perfect.
If you’ve been distracted by the newer shops, do yourself a favor and go back to Inman. Between the extensive menu, the high-quality coffee, and the dietary options, they are beating the competition by a mile.

This was our first time visiting last week, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing from the start.
When I walked in, I asked the girl at the front counter (wearing a backwards hat) what she would recommend. Her response was simply, “Um, I don’t know.” No smile, no suggestions, no follow up. I then asked if the mocha was good, and she replied, “Hmm, I don’t like it,” without offering an alternative. It immediately felt short and uninterested.
My wife was with me English is her second language and she was trying to figure out breakfast. I asked the employee what she would recommend and explained a few things my wife typically likes. Instead of helping, she responded with something along the lines of, “I don’t know, what do you want?” When I tried again, she just pointed at the menu.
The menu itself didn’t help the situation. It was unorganized and hard to read. Items weren’t clearly grouped, prices weren’t easy to match to specific items, and the layout felt cluttered. For someone unfamiliar with the café and especially for someone whose first language isn’t English it made ordering more confusing than it needed to be. Instead of categories being clearly separated (coffee, specialty drinks, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, etc.), everything felt visually crowded and difficult to scan quickly. When you combine that with an unhelpful staff member, it made the whole ordering process frustrating.
To make matters worse, our order was incorrect when we received it.
In total, we paid about $45 for two coffees, two breakfast sandwiches, and a scone. The scone was good, but overall the experience didn’t justify the price. For that amount, I would expect friendly, helpful service and a smoother ordering experience.
It may have been her first day I try to be understanding but the interaction came across as dismissive rather than simply inexperienced.
We were excited to try this place, but between the service, the confusing menu, and the incorrect order, it was honestly shocking and disappointing.

The place is located at the core of downtown Gainesville. The place is big and welcoming, there are plenty of seats inside and outside. For people who like to work in coffee shops, it is a spot you can work at, plenty of outlets, only downside could be the noise and that there is a single bathroom, for a place this big there should be more. The service was good, not the fastest, but overall good. They offer a lot of items such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, ice cream, etc. The coffee was great, cold brew was really good. Overall, would come back!
