As a native Sicilian, this is easily my favorite place to get a pizza in Charlotte. I have tried every single pizza on the menu and not one has ever let me down. What you see here are the remains of a Pistachio Pesto pie, Margherita pie, and a Tuscan pie. If I had the willpower, I would have polished them all off myself. Although, if I had eaten another bite, I may have passed away.

I recently had to quit gluten and dairy but I had a most fantastic pizza at Inizio a while ago and I was smitten. The pizza was even called Maria.
Well, they make a Vegan Margarita called the Veganrita and you can order it on a cauliflower crust. It was AMAZING! I basically breathed it in and while there is nothing that can touch their regular crust , this cauliflower base with the cashew cheese did not disappoint. I can eat Pizza again. As long as it is at Inizio. I’m totally OK with that.

The food is always amazing. I come here once a week. The vodka pesto pizza is the best, and I love the seasonal pear pizza. The pumpkin vanilla is also amazing.

The atmosphere here is great. Wall art and music with classic lighting make the place nice.
We went with the pistachio and the pepperoni pizzas and they came out fairly fast. The pizza was good. It is your standard neapolitan pizza. It wasn’t as crunchy or flavorful as I would like. The pistachio was good but was hit or miss with the flavor. The pepperoni was a bit too sweet for my liking with the honey on top.
Overall I enjoyed my pizza.

I recently moved to the area and was really excited to try this spot after hearing so many great things—especially since they offer gluten-free pizza. Unfortunately, our experience with takeout was really disappointing.
The salad we ordered was actually delicious, but the rest of the meal didn’t live up to expectations. My gluten-free pizza arrived missing several toppings and looked extremely messy in the box, almost as if it had been dropped or tossed around before being packaged. Both the gluten-free and regular pizzas were also cold and seemed undercooked, so we ended up having to put them back in the oven at home.
To make matters worse, my girlfriend became very sick later that evening after eating the pizza and dealt with what seemed like food poisoning for the rest of the night.
It was honestly a bummer because I had heard fantastic things about this place, and my girlfriend had eaten here in the past without any issues. Considering the price, the experience was really disappointing. I’m hoping this was just an off night because we had high hopes for this restaurant.

Love, love the authentic Italian tomato sauce and the quality ingredients in general. For me, the only thing is that the crust was a bit too chewy for my taste. But I am also not a big fan of Neopolitan-style pizza.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this pizza or not. I was hesitant about going, but since our friends suggested it we agreed to go. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Our pepperoni pizza was awesome! The crust was crispy. The tomato sauce and cheese had a great taste to them, and the pepperoni was fantastic. It was a nice clean establishment with a very friendly wait staff. The wait for our pizza was minimal considering they cook the pizza at 900 degrees for 90 seconds. The menu consists of pizza, that’s it. However, they do have a wide selection of specialty pizzas and a build your own option as well. They have Gluten Free and cauliflower crust as an option. Parking is in a plaza, so you’ll just have to search out a parking spot. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and we were able to easily get a parking spot. Inizio’s is located in Dilworth, which is a really nice high end area of Charlotte. Give them a try, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I was too excited to eat my pizza, I forgot to take pictures. Well, that gives us an excuse to go back!
