I’m hoping we just went on a bad night. My boyfriend and I chose to do the Gastronome experience where the chef chooses dishes for you that you enjoy over courses. It was $120 per person so we did have higher expectations. Everything sounded beautiful when the wait staff brought us our dishes but 4 of the five courses were rice dishes including dessert which was odd. Our first course was quite good and probably the best part of the meal. It includes three bites, one of which was a rice and steak bite. Our third course, the risotto, was very undercooked to the point where it has a crunch and was unpleasant to chew. The risotto was also quite sweet. The fourth dish was a halibut over wild rice which was very acidic and somewhat sweet and needed some type of umami to balance it. The dessert, some kind of key lime panko rice ball, was an especially disappointing choice given the previous rice dishes. The entire experience lacked cohesiveness, variety, and excitement with the menu choice. I was craving a more savory salty option but didn’t get that. We felt like more of an inconvenience to our wait staff who never asked how everything was. When I asked if the chef changed from when the restaurant first opened (I dined here a year ago and it was amazing) because we got four rice dishes, the waiter just said “No.” and that was it. It was awkward. Maybe the restaurant caters more to local regulars?

Most inspired food I’ve had in a while. Tried this place out for my husband’s birthday, and we loved the whole experience (starting with the ample parking). The ahi small plate was a definite highlight, and the pork chop was enormous, flavorful, and perfectly crunchy. The snickers ice cream bar was also delicious and generous–our only suggestion there is to perhaps have a knife on the serving board, because the chocolate is thick! The staff and ambience were very welcoming. Great experience overall.

First time dining here, and it’s definitely a hidden gem near the Severn Bridge area. The overall experience was great, though on the pricier side. The menu is unique, and the plating was impressive. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic, perfect for a special night out.

We started with a salad, which was excellent, and the “surf and turf” appetizer was a standout. I had high expectations for the entrees. I ordered the seabass, and my husband had the Cioppino. While the seabass was fine, I found the rice part was a bit too sweet, which masked the natural flavor of the fish—it should have been the star of the dish. The Cioppino, on the other hand, was quite spicy but flavorful and visually appealing.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the evening. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a cozy, unique dining experience.

Came here for the first time to try the chefs table. Chef Samantha was absolutely awesome. She served some amazing and creative dishes and we got to watch her prepare each dish while assisting the kitchen staff. She was super nice and gave me some great advice on how to improve my own home cooking. I’ll be back for sure.

What I enjoyed about InGrano: A very unique experience. The server was fabulous, and from the time you step into the establishment, to the time you leave, everyone is welcoming, polite & approachable. The wine list is superb and extensive. The cocktails are also unique (they use a bubble gun for some of their cocktails). The ambiance is gorgeous. The location is settled in close proximity from Downtown Annapolis, so its easy to get to downtown!

What I did not enjoy so much about InGrano: The extremely small food portions for the price you pay. Mind you, we only got 2 appetizers- the Octopus Tacos & the “Surf & Turf” (Waygu Meatballs). The Octopus Tacos are listed on the menu as “mini crispy tacos”- it is expected for the portion size of the mini tacos to be small. However, the tacos are so mini where they fit in the hands of an elf on the shelf. For splitting two appetizers, the food did not fill me up. I would have loved to order more, however, had to be at Navy Corps-Memorial Stadium for the game. The Waygu meatballs were oversized on top of the focaccia bread; the focaccia bread could have been cut into bigger slices, and would look much more appealing.

The espresso martini was good, but was not great. I am a bartender/head server myself, and I felt as the espresso martini tasted a little “burnt” and could have used a bit of sweetness to it. I don’t believe Espresso Martini’s should be creamy or extremely sweet, but maybe if a touch of flavor were added to it, it wouldn’t have tasted so burnt.

Based on the website, it looks like the restaurant is Michelin-recommended. Typically Michelin Star Restaurants have a concept where their portion sizes to their dishes are small. So if you are looking to eat heavy appetizers, maybe consider InGrano for dinner or select somewhere else.

I was excited to try InGrano after reading great reviews, especially Margo Gallegos’s post about the Wellington. Unfortunately, the experience fell short.

Service started off slow and the cocktails were mediocre, though our appetizers were quite good. The real disappointment came with the Wellington — it was well done, tough, and stringy, with no pink center at all. When I told the server, she took the plate away but soon returned with the same dish, explaining that the chef believed it was cooked properly. I found this response dismissive and insulting.

Eventually, the chef and manager came out to justify the preparation. After some back and forth, they took away the plate and they did comp the entrée, as well as cocktails, and wine, but the damage was done. Being told that I was “wrong” about my own meal left a bad taste.

I’m giving two stars because some dishes were enjoyable, but the lack of basic customer service — acknowledging the issue and offering a sincere apology — made this a disappointing experience.

I visited InGrano recently to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was our first time here and we were very excited to try something new after continuously visiting the same restaurants over and over. What an incredibly lovely experience. The decor was charming, service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Lola and Mason gave us personalized service to truly make sure the night was memorable.

To start we ordered the Hamachi Crudo. This was very light, the flavors really complimented the fish which was clearly very fresh. (My husband is very picky with fish, does not like any semblance of “fishy” flavor and loved this). We also tasted the mini octopus tacos and wow these were great down to the blue corn shells. We also ordered the Taste of Spain platter and I cannot stress enough how delightful this was. The Iberico Ham was so high quality and the muhammara will knock your socks off. I could buy quarts of this muhammara.

For our mains we ordered the squid ink tagliatelle and the wagyu short rib wellington. The squid ink pasta was so well complimented by the trapanese sauce. I was (clearly) very full by now but did my best to enjoy as much of this meal as possible. The wellington was delicious and so worth the price. The demi glace wasn’t overwhelming and was a nice addition.

We ordered wine, the wine menu was diverse and had great selections for a variety of tastes. Their cocktail menu looked so interesting, I will be glad to try some of these out next time.

Overall, I highly recommend InGrano. It was a lovely experience overall and we already can’t wait to return to try out some other plates and especially to get that muhammara I’ve been dreaming about.

This was a wonderful surprise. We had never been to this gem of a restaurant and were totally impressed by the quality of the food, service and drinks. My wife and I were promptly greeted and welcomed, we arrived very early for our reservation but were seated anyway. The manager offered to take our coats, while our amazing serve, Sam, got us situated with drinks and such. I highly suggest the beef Wellington- made with wagu beef- AMAZING! My wife had the a pasta with duck prosciutto and she loved it. We finished our dinner with a house made snickers bar that was over the top fantastic! This evening was such a great time and we highly recommend them for any occasion.

We moved to Annapolis four years ago. Our first experience at InGrano was so good. Subsequent visits we experienced some bizarre service issues and wouldn’t go back. About two months ago we decided to try it again. We went twice and both experiences were amazing. I am a pescatarian and their menu is a little bit difficult to work around because they like to throw meat into everything. I like tuna, but I don’t like rare tuna, and I was able to, on both visits, request and receive medium cooked tuna (the appetizer). Tonight, I was anticipating the seared tuna appetizer cooked, medium, and I was told no. Had that been the answer in the past two visits I could have been a little bit more understanding. So, tonight I had the beet appetizer and bread for dinner. The server was very nice and tried to be accommodating, but the chef said that cooking tuna medium was a hard no. Returning to this restaurant is now a hard no for me. I mean, we can also say no right?

InGrano is such lovely spot for a special dinner or celebration. We also come for a relaxed dinner when we just don’t feel like cooking. Somehow it feels special and like a neighborhood spot all at once!

The ambiance is lovely in every room, and the private chef’s room is so fun to watch the talented chefs cook.

They have lots of fun experiences on the menu such as the smoky old fashioned that comes out with wisps of smoke. The Garden Grove is delicious too.

The appetizers appeal so you can sample more of the eclectic menu! I have ordered the Hamachi Crudo many times and it never disappoints. Update November 2025: they just switched up their menu and they have even more appetizers than before!

If you are feeling up for a large meal the Waygu beef Wellington is truly a treat. We’ve sampled the Lamb Pesto, the Duck Carbonara, and the Cioppino as well. Next time I want to try some of the vegetarian options at InGrano, the stuffed papardelle or the saffron risotto.

I like going here as I know it’s locally owned and the staff is SO NICE. truly such a welcoming environment and a special place. If you’re weighing options for a special occasion dinner or just a relaxing Friday out, I recommend InGrano for sure!
