1 star for texture, 1 for presentation, and 1 for originality; but overall a little off in balance and taste.

– sweet potato uni : nice creamy uni/sweet potato with powdery/crunchy biscuit on the bottom gives good texture. But overall too sweet (both biscuit and the sweet potato) and the flavor of the uni gets overpowered by everything else. The sour cream looks nice presentation-wise, but creates pungent scent that initially caught me off guard and made me think whether the uni wasn’t fresh (which wasn’t the case).

– crispy rice : I like the crunchiness of the nori and daikon; the aioli sauce tasted too similar to just regular mayo and was kind of underwhelming. Overall tastes very much like upscaled mini kimbap.

– sweet shrimp hand roll : the plum sauce was really sweet, which I think was necessary as the raw shrimp was quite bitter, especially more so as I was chewing longer. The shrimp felt fresh, just not the best quality I would expect.

– Ine noodles with sea bream : mixed feeling. Huge noodle portion for the price (especially compared to other menus), which I liked, but way too salty, especially the sea bream. I liked the fish cakes and the sweetness of the fried tofu (that kind of balanced off the saltiness).

– Salmon belly : loved the crunch of the topping and the smokiness of the salmon belly, but again a very salty bite.

Just checked out this new Japanese sushi bistro and it’s honestly such a good spot. The vibe is super modern with a moody bar feel—perfect place to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy some good food.
The seafood handrolls were super fresh, and the tempura was perfectly crispy without being greasy. You can really taste the quality in everything they serve. The staff was also really friendly, which made the whole experience even better.
Definitely a place I’d come back to. If you’re into sushi or just want a cool spot to hang out, this one’s worth checking out. ✨

Really cute new spot for Japanese food. Came for lunch and had a great time. Served recommended great dishes and everything came out super fast and was very tasty. Highly recommend Toro hand roll, buri special, ramen, cucumber salad, crispy rice and the yuzu custard dessert.

Really enjoyed this place.
The vibe is beautiful. It has a mid-century feel with a modern, classy touch, and the space feels warm and thoughtfully designed without being over the top.

The food was honestly better than what I heard!!
Everything felt very polished, almost fine-dining quality, but still comfortable. The seafood was super fresh with no fishy taste at all, and every dish was clean and well balanced.

Service was great too.
Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable.

Overall, such a solid spot with great food, atmosphere, and service.
Perfect for date night or a nice dinner with friends. Would definitely come back.

INE was such a beautiful surprise. The interior feels so cozy and thoughtfully designed — warm lighting, minimal details, and a very calm atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special 🙂
Every dish was incredibly fresh and well-balanced. You can really taste the quality and intention behind each plate. I’ve struggled to find Japanese-inspired spots in LA that I truly love, but this one immediately became a favorite.
It’s the perfect place for a relaxed dinner, date night, or catching up with friends over good food and natural wine. I’m definitely coming back. INE is such a gem in Highland Park

New favorite Japanese fusion spot! Everything is so fresh and delicious. Must try the sweet potato uni and crispy rice! Chef Terry’s attention to detail definitely doesn’t go unnoticed from the quality of ingredients, the presentation of each dish, interior of the store, friendly staff, and so much more. Highly recommend 🙂

I visited Ine on their very first day of opening, and I was genuinely impressed from the moment I walked in. Despite it being their grand opening, everything felt smooth, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. The restaurant offers a modern fusion take on Japanese flavors, and each dish tasted incredibly fresh, balanced, and beautifully plated. You could really tell they put a lot of care into every detail.

The atmosphere at Ine is warm, stylish, and inviting—perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out. Even on day one, the staff were attentive, friendly, and excited to share recommendations. Their service felt natural, not rushed, and made the whole experience even better!

I can already tell this is going to become a popular spot. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality, creative Japanese fusion cuisine. Must Must give it a try! 🙂

We eat a LOT of Japanese food, and INE is one of our favorites in the city. Such a welcome addition to our neighborhood! We just started going and I’m determined to try everything on the menu. It’s an intimate and cozy restaurant that makes you feel like you’re actually in Japan and not a california roll factory. I don’t know their backstory, but it feels like a family operation and it’s only a matter of time before they blow up and you won’t get in. So go NOW!

The “Kyoto style” seafood ramen with sea bream is a standout, as it is something I get every time I go. And their tempura is delicate and delicious. Great twists on sashimi and carpaccio. I’m excited to try the non-Japanese items too, as I have a feeling they will be something special, unexpected, and oishii. And they always have solid music. Great for a date, special occasion, or a casual meal at the bar. Love this place!!
