Swung into the Indy Way on my way home from Portland cause I had another 1.5 hours to my trip and I was hungry and needed a bathroom. The place was pretty empty, so I had the pick of seating. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were clean and the convenience store was clean. So nice.
The waitress was very friendly, to the point that I almost wanted to tell her to simmer down. But, I was tired and just decided to enjoy the friendly banter of someone who was on her feet all day. And I did appreciate her zippy personality. The menu is substantial. Lots to choose from so I ended up with Chicken Club Sandwich, with a side of tater tots. They were out of avocado, but offered to substitute with guacamole, which was fine with me. Service was quick, food was hot and tasty. Nice, crispy chicken breast and the tots were crunchy just how I like them. I had to take half home, which made my husband very happy.
Don’t hesitate to make a pit stop into the Indy Way. The food and service is excellent, and the waitress will be very generous with her smiles.
Honestly, the burger alone would have been enough. You ever go 24 hours without eating, then order too much? I did.
I went into the indy diner to grab a burger and fries for dinner. My day was so busy that I didn’t have a chance to grab lunch. Or breakfast.
I ordered a classic double bacon cheese burger and fries. But I also wanted chili to dump on top of my fries. The good folks at the indy diner offered to serve up my fries with chili and cheese on them. Good deal!
The burger was so big that I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough to take a bite! It really was all I needed to order.
Juicy. Delicious. Tosted buns. Well prepared. It spilled all over my shirt. Just an all-around excellent burger!
But there were also these chili fries with cheese. I’m not going to fault them for using chili, out of a can. At least it wasn’t that watery runny, gross chili. It actually had meat and beans. The fries looked homemade. And in combination with the chili and cheese, they tasted excellent. It was too much food for me, and i’m a big back. But I ate leftovers the next morning.
Indy diner gets 5 yummy faces all day!
The burger was $19, and my total before tip was $26.68. It’s totally worth it!
Birthday meal. I had the long haulerl burger & steak fries. Wife had pancakes and bacon. I asked for extra burger sauce and over medium egg on the burger and it was messy, just the way i like it. Wife liked her pancakes and bacon. It was our first time here. Hopefully it continues to be this good. By the reviews I think it will be.
(10/21/2025 update: in my opinion the long hauler Burger is the best in town. There are some other restaurants in this area that tried to copy it but they’re only imitations. This Burger is always on point, and experience of eating this Burger it’s always satisfying. So if you need your burger craving satisfied and you are hungry the Long Hauler Burger is what’s going to satisfy you!) we keep coming back here and it’s always good every time.
Update:
Had breakfast with a friend this morning, Sunday 8/25/24.
I had the “Indy way hash”. Excellent. She had half order biscuits and gravy and 2 pieces of french toast with boysenberry syrup. She liked it.
This place is consistently good. It’s why we keep coming back.
