The Brunch Bowl is where it’s at, too. This is a playful, delicious mix of soft and crunchy texture from the field greens and seasoned tots, coupled with smooth and tangy flavors from the poblano cream that’s accentuated by the garlic rice. There is a lot going on here and it works quite well. If anything, I’d do less with the poblano so the other flavors would stand out a bit more.
But overall, a good dish and a nice, open airy ambiance that’s perfect for a solo or group outing!
Food looks amazing and tastes amazing!
The drink specials are solid, and Tomorrow’s Problem is hands-down my favorite drink on the menu. The bar setup is well done, there are great TVs for watching games, and the overall vibe is relaxed but fun.
I also love that my apartment hosts small events here — it really adds to the sense of community.
Special shout-out to Cush behind the bar — he’s genuinely a good soul, always kind, and very friendly. When my girlfriends and I come in, he always makes us feel welcome with a smile, which really stands out and makes the experience even better.
Highly recommend Industry for good food, good drinks, and good people.
Beef Cakes ($18): Featured on DINER’S DRIVE-IN’S AND DRIVES. Smoked brisket & bacon, buttermilk pancakes, berry compote, pecan syrup. The combination is just so wild and out there. It was interesting to try but it wasn’t my cup of tea. I didn’t think the flavors worked together. The berry compote was sweet enough that you didn’t need the pecan syrup.
Brisket Pastrami ($18): Featured on DINER’S DRIVE-IN’S AND DRIVES. Dijon, house pickles, Swiss, bacon-onion jam, Texas toast, brisket jus. This was pretty disappointing. The toast was dry and the flavors didn’t come through. It was pretty flat, tasty mostly like carbs. Dipping it in the brisket jus helped a little bit it wasn’t enough. The chips were crispy and good though.
Fish Tacos ($11.25 Tuesday Special | $16): It’s 25% off taco plates on Tuesday so we tried the fish tacos. The fish tacos are made of cornmeal fried texas catfish, cabbage, jalapeno cream, flour tortillas. This was my favorite entree of the whole meal. The fish was crispy and flavorful. It’s the same fish and breading used for the Texas Fish Fry.
Side Brisket ($5): Small container of chopped brisket. Tasted pretty dry and flavorless for the pieces with no fat.
Mezcal Margarita ($7 on Mondays): We were worried it might be watered down, but it was actually really good – strong and didn’t taste like bottom shelf at all.
Texas Fish Fry ($18): Cornmeal-fried Texas catfish, fries, house tartar sauce, and chimichurri. The piece of fish was huge and delicious, though the crust was pretty salty–definitely something to wash down with your drink. We swapped the regular fries for sweet potato fries, which were solid.
Brisket Tacos ($15 for 3): House salsa, avocado crema, cilantro, fried onion, flour tortillas. The tacos were just okay. The brisket came cubed, which probably wasn’t the best choice for tacos. Each component tasted good on its own, but they didn’t come together as a cohesive bite. The chips and salsa were good.
Pork Belly Bites ($11.50): House black BBQ sauce, sesame seeds, fried kale, and green onion. A little dry and slightly overcooked, but still tasty. Loved the fried kale.
Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($9): Dijon bourbon glaze, green onion, and candied pecans. Not crispy, but they were well-seasoned.
4 Grilled Shrimps ($5): Basic but juicy. Not something I’d order again, though.
