We visited this restaurant when it was Athidhi (and Minerva) before covid, when they had the lunch buffet. We stopped by once in 2021, but left because it was empty and they no longer had the lunch buffet.
We made the mistake of coming here (on a weekday evening) and left wondering, “How is this place still open???”. There weren’t any other customers, which should have been the first sign to leave. Zero decor, second sign to leave. The menu looked like it was typed up by a high schooler, no description and was partially hand written, final sign to leave.
Unfortunately, being that we had high hopes (since their buffet used to be good), we stayed and ordered a chicken vindaloo and mutter paneer with naan. The naan was like rubber, not sure if it was heated in the microwave or old. The chicken vindaloo looked/tasted like regular chicken curry and had bones, which wasn’t even mentioned on the menu. I have ordered chicken vindaloo from many other India restaurants and they always had boneless chicken and actually tasted like vindaloo. The server wasn’t helpful in any way and didn’t seem to know much about the food. We barley touched the food, paid and just left the rest of the food on the table.

If you are looking for Authentic Indian cuisine Athidhi is your place to eat. The staff greeted me at the door right away, the restaurant is very clean and the time it took from placing the order my food came out at the proper time.
Eating the food is delicious, it was warm and had a fuzzy feeling going down my mouth.
All I have to say is you must try this food you won’t regret!!!

The new management really tries to continue in the effort of the Indian buffet.
I was pleased with the variety and service.
I had suggested for them to have some kind of soft background music to entice /feel at home to customers while dining.

This restaurant is located by Route-50, near to Costco Chantilly. Very to close to Fairfax (May be 15 minutes drive for Herndon/Reston people). Went there for a dinner. All the food tasted very good and delicious. It is more of Andhra style food, so for someone who likes spicy South Indian style food, this is the place.
After the ownership change, they are going through some restructuring and I was told they are working on re-introducing the buffet in a month or two.

Hey Folks, Here is a few things i like to share here for others like me who prefer to look into a few reviews to before planning to visit a new place they never tried before.
I try to visit them at least once or twice a month, based on my drive route as they are on Chantilly highway, the best food I like here is the buffet, with various options to choose from, which they keep rotating, including a salad option to choose from.
Various types of dosas that I keep ordering them alternatively to taste all of them possible, I am not a fan of oily foods, but once in a while??? It’s okay!
Heads up! Their event hall beside is a perk for folks that are concerned about their budget hesitations for big venues, this can be considered an option for throwing out a small party for friends and also small official meetings. Here I like to share a few pictures of the hall that I photographed.

Great party place. We had lots of good feedback on food -tasty and fresh. Ramesh was very cooperative and made sure the food got on time. This is a perfect place for any kind of party. Laxmi was very helpful gave us very good suggestions, gave us enough time for decorations. We really loved and enjoyed our event here. We definitely recommend this place.

We booked the banquet hall at Athidhi for a birthday event. The event area is spacious with good space for decor and tables for the guests. The food is served in a buffet manner in a separate room with some more seating options.
Staff here provided an exceptional service for the event, wrt booking, suggestions on menu options, clear instructions on the dos and donts, recos for decorators, setting up the banquet hall.
Food was delicious. We ordered a mix of generic items and one or two new items, and it was well appreciated by the guests. We had ordered for 37 guests and due to the flu season, almost 7-8 could not make it, but we found the quantity of the food to be very less for the 37 headcount we had ordered for. It always looked like there was not enough food on the trays and people had to hold back when it came to taking more. If only the team had refilled it in a timely manner and made sure all the food we ordered was served, it would have been a great experience on the food front as well.
Overall, we had a good experience working with people who were very welcoming and accommodating at the restaurant. Room for improvement would be wrt making food quantity available for the order that has been made, accessible in a timely manner for the guests.

I ordered a chicken biryani and they took 20+mins to bring it. I thought they were making it fresh . The food was hardly warm and the chicken pieces were all cold. Looks like their microwave stopped working.

Hospitality was really good. Food was ok. Chicken curry was very oily. Dosa was fresh and crispy but missing authentic taste.

Was in the area with colleagues and tried lunch. Place was empty and took more than 30 mins to serve two orders of butter chicken and one chicken fried rice. Food was average and had to halfway as we did not have any time.
