India’s House is the place to go if you want delicious Indian food. They have an amazing lunch buffet which is when I go here. I’m not sure what their portions are for dinner. The food is so flavorful and delicious. I would’ve liked for the food to be a little hotter in temperature as it was just warm. The lunch buffet was around $17 per person which could be looked at as being on the high side, but with the cost of food and the fact that this place is downtown, makes the slight higher price understandable and ok. One thing that I didn’t like was when I paid, their card reader didn’t like my card and I tried 3 times to run my card with each time the owner getting increasingly irritated that my card wasn’t working. I had more than enough money in my account and have never had problems with that card other than here. Thankfully I had another card and that one didn’t have any problems. Other than that and the lukewarm temps, this was a great dining experience. Comfortable seating with booth or table options and so many options to choose from on the buffet.

Excellent food, wonderful man runs the place. My favorite food in the whole world is Navratan (Vegetable) Korma and India’s House has the best I have ever had. Not hot spicy but delicious spices. I HIGHLY recommend the lunch buffet, absolutely fantastic!

I was doing some work in Columbia Missouri, so I stopped by to grab some nice Indian buffet. The food was pretty good except where at the end of my meal I did find a long piece of hair in what look like to be the Curry chicken dish. I wasn’t going to make a big stink because you know it happens. I get it, but I actually read one of the reviews and it said that hair was also found in their meal – so clearly this restaurant needs to follow some basic hair net policy otherwise they’re going to keep getting these reviews which they shouldn’t because the food was tasty. I did enjoy it.

I used to order here a couple of years ago, then couldn’t afford, then started ordering again recently (8+ months). I don’t know if the restaurant changed owners- it’s still good- but it was better in my humble opinion a couple years ago. It seems to not have as many spices and as much flavor recently, and I understand that with recent inflation it’s more difficult for restaurants to stay in business. However, I would happily take a smaller portion of higher quality food vs a larger portion of less flavorful food. Still a nice treat occasionally and I love seeing a smile on the gentleman’s face when I come in! May you prosper in your business endeavors, friends.

It is quiet and personable inside. I always came here when I was pregnant and craving Indian food. Its just as great not pregnant! Food wasn’t too oily and the spice was just right. The garlic Naan is perfect! Mango Lassi was a good pairing with the chicken vindaloo and samosas.

Dined here for the first time for dinner, wanted some Indian food. Had vegetable samosa appetizer – 3 pieces – served with tamarind dipping sauce which was sweet and delicious and a greenish chutney/spicy type-sauce which was also good.
Our entree portions were typical, but tasted good – typical for what one would expect. We had the butter chicken and lamb curry, served with a plate of basmati rice. Also had garlic nann.

My delivery took TWO HOURS! When I called after 90 minutes to ask how long it’d be, he was rude, immediately blamed it on door dash when they hadn’t even gotten my order yet. As I was on the phone with him I got a DoorDash message saying that they confirmed the order, something tells me he forgot and tried to fix it while we were on the phone (or maybe they really just have a terrible system). When I finally got my food I was unimpressed and it and wayy overpriced.

The food was not up to the mark. Not a good experience. The food is stale and oily. The place is unclean and the owners and staff were quarreling. The food was no where near authentic. The overall quality is bad. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Stay away from this place. They were trying to get everyone to eat buffet, seemed like they didn’t want to cook!

I ordered roughly $20 worth of food and was left hungry afterwards. The butter chicken skimped out on the protein as it was mainly the sauce. The dal soup had good texture with all the ingredients, but the flavor profile only tasted like salt. The best part of the meal was the naan. The cashier tried to be friendly but his remarks could be interpreted as rude.

Update/edit:
I used to absolutely love this place, but recently the quality has tanked. The last two entrées I had tasted off; so much so that I couldn’t finish my meal. Prices are also getting out of the affordable range, especially considering the quality. I hope it improves back to its former glory. I miss having delicious Indian food.

Update: I tried them again lately and they are getting better — not back to what it was, but better. Mango Lassi is gross now – it’s straight up old mango juice, very little to no yogurt (disappointing when you pay such a steep price for it). Portions were tiny, especially when the entrées are kind of expensive.

This place is absolutely amazing! Plus, they can make their foods actually spicy; I got level 12 and it was super good and really hot. Both the vindaloo and tikka marsala I tried were great. I also really enjoyed their vegetable samosas. One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried in a while.
