Absolutely loved the dosa. They tasted just like back home — authentic Bangalore-style dosas: perfectly crispy, light, and incredibly delicious. The variety of chutneys was amazing, and the sambar was full of flavor and tasted so comforting and authentic.

This is truly the best place for dosa lovers. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone craving real South Indian food!

Good food and quick service! The vada is a must try! It was perfectly fried and not too oily. Their portions are good for sharing. The dosa was delicious but the aloo masala stuffing could be better, in terms of spice. Overall great dishes with lots of options

Tried first time. Dahipuri was good, good flavors but Samosa chat was disgusting . Never tasted like a chat. It was the same yogurt and chatni they put in Dahipuri. Chat means spicy but this samosa chat tasted like Samosa Dahi. Filtered coffee was ok but not good as good as Simply South Kitchener.
Will try dosa next time.
Service was good.

Food was decent with good quantity, and the Indian girl served us very nicely. We ordered 3 dosas—tasty but could’ve been better. There was a fruit fly around our food, which was a bit disappointing. The sweet lime soda tasted average, more like sprite with masala.

We hosted a party at Indian spice in the pentagon room inside the restaurant . It was an amazing experience.Ambiance, food and service everything was on point.

Quantity was generous and quality was fresh.
Must try Madras Chettinad Dosa, Dabang dosa, rava dosa and mixed veg uttapam.

Special methion for their Chai.

Highly recommend !

Disrespectful, Embarrassing, and Unacceptable Experience

We visited this restaurant as a group of four. Three of us wanted to order the unlimited menu, while one person wanted to order a single separate item.

The staff told us this was not allowed, saying it is their policy that everyone at the same table must order the same menu and that people with a separate menu are not allowed to eat together.

This policy was never mentioned beforehand, and the way it was enforced made us feel judged, unwanted, and insulted, as if our friend would take food he didn’t pay for. That assumption was extremely offensive.

To make things worse, they forced him to sit at a different table, which was humiliating and completely unnecessary. Instead of handling individual situations professionally, they chose to embarrass customers.

Dining out should be welcoming, not uncomfortable. With such policies and this kind of treatment, you cannot run a restaurant properly. If these rules exist, they should be clearly communicated in advance and enforced with respect.

We left feeling cornered, embarrassed, and deeply disappointed.

Indian Spice Waterloo distinguishes itself through an evident respect for craft, balance, and authenticity. The paneer biryani is exemplary, layered with depth rather than excess, where the aromatics are expressive without overwhelming the palate. Each grain of rice is distinct, infused with spice rather than drowned in it, and the paneer is tender, fresh, and thoughtfully integrated into the dish. The dosas are equally impressive, thin and crisp with a delicate fermentation tang, served generously and executed with precision. Their Indian street food snacks merit particular praise, vibrant in flavour and texture, evoking the character and spontaneity of true roadside cuisine while maintaining a refined level of consistency.

Beyond the food, the restaurant’s atmosphere reinforces the experience. The space is clean, comfortable, and inviting, with an understated warmth that encourages lingering rather than rushing through a meal. Service feels attentive and sincere, reflecting a team that understands the cuisine and takes pride in delivering it well. In a region where Indian dining options are plentiful yet uneven, Indian Spice Waterloo sets a clear standard. What this really means is simple: if you are seeking depth of flavour, careful execution, and an environment that honours the cuisine, this is the benchmark. Without hesitation, it stands as the best Indian restaurant in the Kitchener Waterloo area.

I recently tried the Pav Bhaji Dosa here and it was honestly one of the best fusion dosas I’ve had – perfectly crispy with masala inside. Their Podi Idli was another highlight, those little bite-sized idlis tossed in podi masala were so addictive! To finish off, I tried the Badam Halwa – rich, nutty, and served warm, it literally melted in the mouth.

The service was super friendly and quick, and the ambience felt warm and welcoming with a nice family vibe. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
