What a hidden gem in Costa Rica! Fantastic quality Thali meals in the San Jose area. Value for money as well. Had the regular Thali for lunch on my first visit last week, and a special Pongal Thali before. Both were of very high quality with excellent presentation. Service is also very good – thanks to Chef Anil & Chef Pravin who ensures everything runs smoothly. The lassi is also very good, will transport you back to homeland!

We were quite happy to find authentic South Indian food in San Jose and had a chance to chat with the owner.
Also appreciated was the gluten free menu labeling and even a gluten free Naan option which is hard to find.
We had several dishes and enough for leftovers. The kheer for dessert was a nice treat.
Thumbs up for an authentic Indian experience.

We had dinner in the back covered patio and was very nice. Our drinks were great m! Mango lassi, spiced mango lassi, and masala coffee. We ordered the non vegetarian Thali platter and it brought so many good things. The garlic naan was on point, and we also ordered some butter chicken, which was delicious than what they make in the States. You could tell this place was great because as soon as you walked in, the smell of curry spices engulfed your nose. The spice level was perfect too – we picked medium. All around good!

Excellent Indian food in Escalante. Prices are very reasonable considering the area. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant has different areas for dining, which adds to its excellence. The sweet lassi was extremely filling and tasty. I would certainly recommend the restaurant for anyone in the mood for quality food.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – Authentic Indian Taste, Exceptional Service
As an Indian Army officer travelling across continents, I seldom find places abroad that truly recreate the flavours of India. India Palace, Costa Rica is an outstanding exception.
We ordered the Vegetarian Thali, and every element was executed with authenticity and precision:
Soft, fresh rotis
Perfectly cooked dal
Crisp salad
Flavourful sabji with true Indian taste
Excellent dosas, with chutneys that were remarkable
A special mention to Lodvin and Praveen, who served us with professionalism, courtesy and warmth. Their attentive service enhanced the overall experience.
Compliments to Executive Chef Anil, who prepared the meal with genuine Indian flavours and ensured every dish tasted like home.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking real Indian food in Costa Rica.
India Palace delivers with authenticity, discipline, and heart.

Chef Anil is an excellent chef who can make whatever you ask for. We requested a Hyderabadi biryani, and he made it exactly as we wanted. It was extremely delicious, full of flavor, and truly authentic. It is very rare to find such a biryani in another country, and I was very satisfied.
He also made different types of dosas, and they were equally amazing. You can really see his skill and experience in the food.
The staff is very friendly, and the place is calm, peaceful, and pleasant. Big appreciation to Chef Anil .. highly recommended.

The food is good, the service is good, but the menu is very pricy. I ordered chicken Tika Masala, which I thought came with rice. Such was not the case. All I got was a small bowl of the chicken Masala. I had to buy the rice separately and believe me, it was not cheap,$6 for a single, small portion of steamed rice . Altogether, the two items came up to $22 +23% tax (sales and service)
