My husband and I had heard great things about this cart, so we came and got a ton of food to give it a try. We are so glad we did! The word of mouth is absolutely correct. The food was fresh, delicious, and perfectly spiced. Plus the portions are very generous. Our stand outs: chicken biryani, lamb curry, and veggie pakoras. The biryani may be one of the best I’ve had anywhere, we both had to throw away our spoons to stop eating it. The lamb is tender and the curry flavor is deep and rich and flavorful. The pakoras are more substantial than others I’ve had, but they had great flavor and I loved the coriander chutney they came with. This cart is a gem and I can’t wait to go back for more!

The saag paneer was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned, rich, and full of flavor. You can really taste the freshness and quality in every bite. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Great food, great experience, and definitely worth coming back!

I loved hanging out around the fire pit. It is a really lovely atmosphere. That being said, the vegetable korma was missing something. The sauce looked a bit like Velveeta. My husband, who is better with flavors, said it tastes like they were rationing the cardamom. And it was more expensive than the other Indian food carts I’ve been to in the area.

Got the chicken tikka masala, it had almost no flavor. The only detectable flavor was milk and a touch of tomato. Overwhelmingly milky, too. And the chicken contained within the sauce was bland and rubbery, and there was very little of it, considering the $18 price tag. Maybe the other dishes are better, but I could barely get through a few bites of mine before throwing it away.

Decent food truck with tasty Indian food. VERY overpriced for the quantity they offer.

We tried Mixed Vegetable Curry and Shahi Paneer. Both items tasted good (requested for spicy, but it wasn’t that spicy to be honest).

They need to really improve on the quantity (or at least reduce the price), but the food is tasty though.

Proprietor was rude and the food took forever to come out. When it did arrive it was hot, but the tika masala was pretty flavorless and had very little actual chicken. For $17 it was wildly overpriced.

I have chased this food cart around from when they were on 82nd Ave. out to Foster and back to my home space of John’s Marketplace. My favorite Indian food in Portland.

Great good, authentic taste. Stopped for chai, had samosas, and then picked up Chole Bhaturas as well. Rampal who runs the food truck was very pleasant and prompt in his service.

TLDR: There is no scarcity of Indian food anywhere but if you truly want a glimpse of “Ghar ka Khana” instead of a typical Indian restaurant, this where you should go!

I was skeptical to try out this food truck at first because Portland failed to impress me with Indian food so far. But even as we (me and my girlfriends) were contemplating our future, the owner welcomed us in Hindi and all smiles, so we automatically gravitated towards him.

We started our order with the most basic comfort food- daal tarka and aloo curry with jeera rice. We had one spoonful of it and it was just like “Ghar ka Khana”
So we started bombarding them with more orders that I honestly lost count of how many dishes we ordered and how much we spent.

Special shoutout to the owners for treating us soooo well. They gave us extra treats, papad, vinegarised onions, made chai freshly for us. I can’t stop writing more good things about them.

100/100 HIGHLY RECOMMEND and APPRECIATE the food truck and their service. Also, they apparently have a restaurant too!

Me and my sister came over on New Year’s Eve and got the Lamb Biryani, Chicken curry with plain and garlic naan and an order of the vegetable samosas with a hot chai. The food was amazing and the guy working was super nice and helpful to answer our questions about the food and even made sure to ask how I liked my chai and the spice levels for both of our plates.

At one point he even asked for my sister to taste test the level of spice of her chicken curry which was a plus in our books of customer service. Overall, the food is a favorite for us to enjoy and eat and would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Indian food here in Portland.
