El Chelle
This was my first time coming here after finding it on Google, and I’m really glad I did. The cashier was very nice and took the time to recommend popular dishes. I told him I like spicy food, and he suggested the chili crispy fried rice and the flame special combo. I ended up ordering the flame special combo, and the food was absolutely worth it. The place was clean, customer service was great, and the prices were very reasonable. My total was $21.59, which I felt was fair for the quality and portion. I’ll definitely be back to try something else. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend supporting this spot.

Delicious food, amazing service and atmosphere. Will definitely come back. Lots of Indian street food options, which cannot be found in Albany. Keep it up!

Had to try Express as we love their food at Indian Flame in Wynantskill and Flames Pizza in Cohoes. Looking for options that we can’t get in Wynantskill, we tried the Himalayan Garlic fried rice (light and delicious, bottom right in pic of 3 items), Hyderabadi Dum Biryani(chicken is bone in, item in pic of 3), Cauliflower Manchurian in sauce (bottom left in pic of 3) and Fusion Chicken 65 (see pic of nice white meat). The two of us had lunch and brought home enough leftovers for another meal. Everything was excellent and fresh. Then I asked for a desert that was new to us and he suggested Falooda (we have tried many of the cakes at Wynantskill and they are yummy). I can’t tell you exactly what’s in it, but it was super yummy! Rosewater, pistachio, dried fruit….
On a side note, they also have homemade Indian Plum Cake at Express and in Wynantskill (not sure about pizzeria). So far, we’ve had two! We were honored to be a part of the mixing ceremony and know it includes a lot of rum (which has been fermented)! Sorry, no pics. It’s not like an American fruitcake, it’s actually cake-like and you can see the nuts and fruit in the bread. Moist but not wet. Spiced but not heavily. We highly recommend trying it!

This place is right by advance auto parts. I arrived with my buddy around 6pm on a Wednesday. It wasn’t crowded. We walked up to the counter, placed our orders. We order the samosas, mulligatawny soup and masala dosas. They came out fast. The food was exactly what I wanted. The mulligatawny soup was tasty and it came with some juillienne ginger slices. My friend said the samosas were great! The dosa had a potato masala filling inside. It came with a peanut coconut chutney, vegetable sambar and a ginger paste I had never had before ( i likie) I had a hot tea ☕️ as well. The staff was friendly, truly. The environment is casual. Bathrooms are very very clean. I’ll be back!

We ordered chole bhature, chicken manchow soup, tea, and coconut chicken fry. Everything was great – with chicken manchow soup being my favorite. The staff is friendly and the place is clean with lots of seating options. Our food arrived fairly early (within 15 mins ish). Definitely try other things from their vast menu. Also, it’s a new Indian restaurant per the staff and opened two weeks ago.
2nd visit – we ordered chicken Kondattam, Onion Masala Dosa, Thali with Goat Curry, Chicken, Chapati, Rice and Kheer. All amazing food. All the staff were really helpful in answering our questions. Would visit again!

This newly opened restaurant is a gem! I tried the South Indian specials, street eats, and their veg and non-veg curries — everything is an absolute must-try. Their pastries are homemade from scratch and incredibly delicious. It’s tough to find these kinds of items in the Albany area, so this place is definitely my new go-to spot!

I ordered the Flame Special Combo with goat, chicken, and kheer, medium spice—and it was excellent. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, with just the right amount of heat. The goat was tender, the chicken was well-seasoned, and the kheer was a perfect finish to the meal.
The rice and bread that came with the combo paired perfectly with the sauces and really brought everything together. On top of the great food, the restaurant was very clean, which made the experience even better.
Overall, great quality, great flavor, and a satisfying meal. I’ll definitely be back.
