Instead, we ordered chapati and Devil Chicken, and both dishes were delicious. The biryani here has an authentic Arab-style flavor, freshly prepared and served with salad and raita — a real treat if you enjoy traditional tastes.
The restaurant is conveniently located near the City Centre, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit.
If you’re missing home-style food, this place is a must-try! Highly recommended.
There’s a spacious seating area outside, and the public garage is a short walk away. They deliver on wolt but we will definitely visit agajn soon.
The portion sizes were generous and the service was quick. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us happy. They even offered complimentary biryani rice, which was absolutely amazing in taste — a very thoughtful gesture that made our visit even more special.
A warm and welcoming host, excellent food, and great hospitality.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious Indian food in Belgrade. Definitely going back!
The only thing even better than the food are the great owners and staff.
They also speak English, so it’s easy to communicate even if you’re not from Serbia.
Everyone is so warm and welcoming.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience real local hospitality and amazing flavors!
If you travel to a part of the world where it is genuinely hard to find good Indian and halal food, then demand endless modifications and expect it to taste exactly like the version next to your house, that is on you. Context matters. Food does not exist in a vacuum.
I arrived in Belgrade on Friday and was genuinely surprised to find a Hyderabadi restaurant right in the city centre. I am a born and bred Hyderabadi, and if there is one thing Hyderabadis are good at, it is criticising biryani. I walked past this place at least ten times in two days before finally stepping in on Saturday night. I met the owner, Feroz, who was sweet, genuine, and a great conversationalist, but I was not quite in the mood for home food yet while travelling.
Sunday night changed that.
I was done for the day and wanted to end it with something comforting. I usually travel to explore local cuisines and actively avoid eating Indian food abroad, especially Hyderabadi biryani, which I am extremely picky about. I walked in at 9:59 PM, when they close at 10, fully expecting to be turned away. Instead, they sat me down warmly and even accommodated a takeaway biryani without hesitation.
This is not your typical dum biryani where the rice and meat are cooked together, at least the version I had was not. I was served fragrant rice alongside grilled chicken, which I assume was the tangdi kebab. And here is the thing.
The salan and raita that came with it were world class.
I am writing this review at 1:30 AM, which tells you everything. I have travelled the world and eaten across continents, and this is genuinely the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a restaurant review immediately after a meal. The salan especially is something that is hard to find even in Hyderabad these days, done properly with depth and balance. I live in London and eat Indian food almost every week, and honestly nothing there comes close to this combination.
Sadly, I am leaving Belgrade tomorrow. But if I ever return, I already know where I am eating.
And Feroz, if you are reading this, please connect with me on Instagram @ritwinr and send me those recipes.
Highly recommended.
