Spice of India in Westminster is unreal. Liked it more than any other in Denver area.

I was enthused by the reviews to visit this restaurant. But i was disappointed by their Indian food quality and limited options. The owner or the cook may not be of Indian origin, their food was bland, may be to make it suitable for American palate. The food definitely lacked the spices and the basic cooking process we follow in Indian cuisine. Every curry was full of onion and lacked the spices needed to make them tasty. Being cook myself i could identify the goof ups they made. I was disappointed and if you are an Indian i would not recommend you this restaurant. It was buffet all you can eat restaurant. Price was decent

Love this place, one of the last Indian buffets left in Denver area (for dinner at least) They have lots of vegetarian options and some vegan friendly. They do not really label it accordingly but it does exist. Great meat options as well and there samosas are some of the best around. I wish they had some spice options as most foods are made in the mild range, so I can’t give it a perfect score but the food is delicious. The Restaurant is a little dated at this point and is in a older area of University Hills so it is expected, But don’t let the exterior throw you off, the food is great, the service is friendly and knowledgeable. overall I highly recommend this place.

3/5/23-One of the best Indian places in the Denver metro area. Good food for a good price. The all you can eat buffet is $15.99. The buffet may be small, but it has a good variety of items. The first half is vegetarian. Really good sauces. Service was ok. The outside of the building was a little ran down, but the inside is clean and inviting.

My recent $10 Too Good To Go order left me underwhelmed. The food itself was flavorful, but the portion was surprisingly small, especially the main dish. As you can see in the picture, the meal was overwhelmingly rice with a meager two tablespoons of curry. Upon arrival, I had to call into the kitchen a few times before staff noticed me at the door. Thankfully, the food was packed, and they quickly provided plastic spoons when requested. For $10, I anticipated a more substantial meal; the current offering feels overpriced for what amounts to mostly rice. Although I experienced some typical post-Indian meal indigestion, my main concern is the value. While I’m grateful to the staff, I don’t plan on purchasing another meal from this establishment.

I have been a handful of times, every time it is delicious.
I live in Colorado Springs so it is a little bit of a drive, but worth my time.

Hidden Gem. This is the only Indian restaurant we’ve found that still has a noteworthy lunch buffet — it’s fantastic!

With twelve entrees to choose from, and both Saffron rice and Basmati rice, plus desert, this is an unusual find.

It is hidden away in the back corner of a strip mall with an exterior that is nondescript, but the interior is ethnic, attractive, and calming.

The service is excellent, as well. Without a doubt, this restaurant is far superior to others in the area.

While these features do set ‘India Oven’ apart from the other Indian restaurants in this part of Denver, it is the quality and taste of the food that makes this restaurant so exceptional.

I love Indian food and have visited many Indian restaurants in the Denver area. I rate this as the absolute best. It is also the best value.

Let’s remember too, that we need to support these small, family-owned businesses. Thankfully, this is one we can be happy to support as it has a well-earned 5-star rating in each category.

Oh how I love their lunch buffet. I go there regularly and my vegetarian companions love how all the veggie options – especially the sweet potato masala. Yesterday there was some spicy chicken too, which I loved. We had to wait a bit for nan bread but it was so worth the wait – the fresh bread was so good. The price is right and the service is good. Highly recommend.

Borderline crooks.

I ordered the lamb curry entree and a Coke for carryout — nothing fancy. Total came to $21.52 — a bit higher than I expected looking at the online menu prices, but I figured they were just charging a bit more than I expected for the soft drink since they didn’t list It in the menu. No big deal. The gentleman on the phone seemed very confused that he was being given an order for a restaurant he worked at and answered the phone for, didn’t take my name, and didn’t give me an estimated wait time — but I rolled with it.

When I went inside the restaurant to pay and pick up my order, there was nobody at the counter. There was somebody cleaning the tables, but they ignored me for quite a while. Finally another group of customers came in and walked all the way into the middle of the table area before the worker took note of them. I followed suit, and he led me to a counter deeper inside the restaurant, which there was no exterior indication existed. When he took my money, he didn’t seem to have any interest in actually taking it, and finally told me to leave it on the table, though he didn’t tell me very clearly. He made no move to give me my change or a receipt, but it was only 3 cents, so I wasn’t going to make a deal out of it. He handed me a single 12 fl oz can of Coke — for the price, I figured I’d get an actual full size drink. Then I asked him where my food was — he seems confused at the question too, but finally indicated that it was sitting on the table behind me, like he had already told me that, which he hadn’t in any way that I could perceive. It was wrapped in what I can only call a plastic trash bag. Okay. When I opened up the food, the portion size of the rice was generous, but the portion size of the actual curry was fairly small for the price. Worse, it didn’t have any vegetables in it — where the menu clearly indicated that the curry contained vegetables. I figured, maybe it’s just really really good — and it wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t $21 good.

The service and communication at this restaurant was bad enough that I would call it misleading — either somebody has messed up really bad, and had some major snag in training their employees — or the place is misleading people on purpose, which is crooked. Perhaps it’s the former, and I do not jump to conclusions — but it seems pretty unlikely.

One of the only consistent Indian dinner buffets in the region. Every dish is delicious for $17/dinner! I’m normally more of a meat kind of girl, but their vegetarian dishes are just as delicious. Second time here and I’ll be back again.
