I can’t speak highly enough about India Mahal. My wife and I love Indian Food. In our decades of travels all over this country and around the world, we always seek out Indian Food. India Mahal is quite simply the best we have found, everywhere else is now a let down.
This is a small, family owned and operated restaurant. Inside is a cozy atmosphere with charming decor and soft lighting. Recently redecorated, it has a great ambiance.
The menu has great variety and prices are extremely reasonable. They use only fresh ingredients and the food is always cooked to order and to perfection. I haven’t found a dish yet that wasn’t perfect. Someone else mentioned the tea in their review – it’s incredible and definitely a must try item. We’re not big on buffets, but India Mahal puts on a fantastic lunch buffet which we occasionally try – always a great variety and again, a tremendous value for your money. I have often heard folks with specific dietary needs (vegans, allergies, etc) order specialty items and alway seem to get a perfect meal.
Again, can’t say enough positive things about this great place – my only complaint is that it’s in Wilmington and I live in Jacksonville, if it was closer I’d probably eat there every night!

So glad to have this excellent new Indian restaurant in Wilmington! Went for the first time last night and already planning our return. Our Garlic Chicken appetizer set the stage for the evening…outstanding. We followed it with Mysore Onion Masala Dosa, Murg Malai Kabab and Chettinad Chicken Masala. Our only complaint is that our stomachs were too small to try everything we wanted to try.
Service could not have been better. Sujana was very attentive and helped guide our choices.
Nice atmosphere…Indian Music Videos playing on TV were fun to watch as well.

Excellent Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, Naan, Samosas. This from a former Los Angelino spoiled by good Indian cuisine.
