1st time having Indian food it was great! The wait to get the food was a little long due to them being understaffed. The customer service was great. The menu has a lot of different options to choose from. There’s no dine in, only take out. The butter chicken with white rice and garlic naan was delicious. Definitely coming back again.

This is a great cozy place to get delicious flavorful food. I had the chicken curry plate with the yellow jasmine rice and coconut vegetable medley- yummy! We also had the cheesy naan bread, garlic naan bread and samosas. The staff at this restaurant were so accommodating, helpful and friendly. Sitting happens out in front of the establishment.

Excellent food and taste. Spice levels are as same as you select and gives the feel of Indian food in a foreign land. On top of it, customer service is very very great!!

This is one of the best Indian restraunts I have been to outside of India. Uncle Sonny is amazing and very intuitive. My mom couldn’t decide and he chose for her; it’s her favorite Indian dish so far. Amazing spice and perfect by your level. My mom got a 3 and that was great for flavor without too much spice, by her preference. I got a 10 and I was pleasantly surprised. Better yet was the pickle Uncle Sonny gave extra. It made my lips tingle it was so good! A great place for those who don’t want too much spice AND those who really want it. Uncle is able to level the spice appropriate. Trust him. All of us were happy. From my wimpy mother, older grandfather and spicy sister.

One of the best Indian food I’ve had in Hawaii so far! The staff was super knowledgeable about the different types of curry bases they use, and how they are authentically made. He went above and beyond & gave us a blind taste test before deciding on which dish to choose. The prices are also very fair. Highly recommended – this place should be rated above a 4 and it’s unfortunately some reviews gave this place 1 star due to them not being open. Staffing shortages are a real thing since Covid – so let’s exercise some patience with local businesses.

This place is DBA Himalayan Kitchen. I’m not sure why it says India Cafe. Excellent service even though it’s take-out only. The cashier is soooo friendly. Food was great, especially the naan! We will be back to try more. I think it’s best to call in your order beforehand as the wait is pretty long.

My family and I are fairly new to Indian cuisine. At the time we visited, dinning in wasn’t available, only take-out & phone orders. When we drove up to the restaurant, we could clearly see that they were busy because there was a line of people putting in their orders & another line of people waiting to receive their orders.(That’s one indication that they must be good, right..?!) When it was our time to place our order, the Gentleman greeted us and asked what we would like. I told him that we weren’t familiar with most of the stuff on the menu and asked if he could please explain to us what was what. The Gentleman explained that everything is made-to-order and is “customized ” to your preference of spice level. He was very kind and patient and actually took the time to explain everything we needed to know, despite the fact that there were lines of people. And, if I’m not mistaken, I think it was just he and another cook running the whole show that night. After about 45 minutes, our dinner was ready. But it all worked out, because we were able to make a quick Target run in the mean time! Over all, our experience was awesome here! Awesome service! Awesome food! If there had to be a negative comment from us, it would have to be that they weren’t open for dine in. Other than that, we’ll definitely be going back! We’ll make sure to call in our order, though.
