We don’t need fancy food, provide us with some simple healthy savor options so that people don’t leave your restaurant with dissatisfaction.
Finally an Unexplored place. We ordered pani puri, masala dosa and puri. The dosa texture and sambar are delicious. Same with puri, the curry is good.
Pani puri: it’s not as good as it seems. Pani was good, puri felt like not freshly made and the stuff inside puri was tasteless. The pani was provided in short glasses. Instead they should have provided pani in a bowl.
Let me know what you how’s your experience about this place.
• The naan was a disaster. The first one was so thin and brittle it felt like a papad. When the cashier replaced it, the “fresh” naan came out even worse — hard as a rock, like a stale biscuit.
• The chole bhature was by far the worst I’ve ever been served anywhere. The first bhatura was raw, doughy, and undercooked. When we complained, they brought another one that reeked of baking soda and tasted horrible. The chole itself was unbearably salty, and instead of fixing it properly, they watered it down like soup.
Nothing tasted fresh, nothing was prepared with care, and nothing was worth paying for. One of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in years. If I could give negative stars, I would.
The Vadapav was good.
Had a good Dal Tadka after a really long time! Paneer Lababdar was also good, not too sweet..
Tried Indochinese as well, swezwan rice was also good… In short exceeded my expectations on taste..
The cost per person was slightly high, $90 for 3 plus tip. The quantity of dal tadka was a bit less.
Other than that, all good..
As for food, it is pretty good and large volumes. We pretty much had to portions of everything home. While service was good, they were certainly short on staff. Was disappointing to see a mandatory service charge for a table of 4 or above but would have been OK if they had the staff augmented for that.
Rooting for their success, given the good taste and variety of food. Try the spicy guava drink
The inside is decorated beautifully and you would have never guessed that by looking at the exterior. When we got to the restaurant, we were the only ones there so I would say my one recommendation to enhance the atmosphere would be to maybe play some music. It felt quite awkward until people started coming in and it got a bit louder inside.
The food was delicious, but the portions were smaller than I had expected. Their menu is fully vegetarian. I got the Pav Bhaji and ended up ordering an extra Pav to finish the Bhaji, but it wasn’t too expensive. That dish as a whole is pretty inexpensive, so the portion makes sense.
The restaurant is designed so that you order before you take a seat. Something I didn’t like is that we were told where to sit and I would have preferred to choose our seat. We were sat right next to the register and it felt a bit claustrophobic and again, a bit awkward as I felt that everyone could hear our conversations. When another family came in, they were told to sit at the table right next to us, but they asked if they could sit elsewhere because they felt as if they would have been too close to us since we were the only two tables in the restaurant (I really appreciated this!).
All and all it was a pretty good experience and the food was good!
