I have always frequented and enjoyed IndAroma… the food is amazing, and probably the best around. Plus you can adjust your level of spiciness, which I love because we like it hot in this house lol, and they also give you a really nice reusable plastic shopping bag when you get to-go orders!

With all that positivity being said, they have become so expensive it’s not even funny! This is not a fine dining restaurant by any means ; It’s a nice little teeny tiny casual as can be with maybe 10 tables kinda joint.

I understand prices in this lovely country of ours have increased, but sadly this place is overpriced to the point of becoming almost unaffordable. It’s like $30-50 per person and for what you get it’s unreal and unthinkable.

Our first time trying this restaurant. We ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Tandoori with a Naan. The order arrived on time. The Chicken Tandoori was delicious, but the Biryani was just average — and surprisingly, it came with boneless chicken. Traditionally, biryani should have bone-in chicken, so that was disappointing.

The main reason I’m giving a 2 -star review is because of the poor customer service from one staff member. As soon as we took our first bite, an older gentleman approached us in a very rude and disrespectful tone, saying: “YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DRINK.” I had already spent nearly $50 on food — did he really think I was going to run off without paying for a $3 Fanta? Of course, I was going to pay, but the way he said it completely ruined our experience. There was no sign saying we had to pre-pay for drinks, and his approach felt unnecessary and unprofessional.

What made it worse is that my wife, who wears a hijab, felt singled out. It left us questioning whether his behavior was simply bad service or something more personal. Either way, it was rude and uncalled for.

Unfortunately, because of that interaction, we will not be coming back — even though the food itself had some highlights.

This is a counter service Indian restaurant that did not disappoint. The masala was tasty and delicious; as was the chaat. I love the painting on the wall and the clean inside. Also love the premade water jars for customers to take. Unfortunately we were just passing through town because I’d love to come back!

Absolutely loved IndAroma! The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the naan was the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was great, service was excellent, and everything was very clean. Exceeded my expectations—highly recommend!

Hands down the best Indian food we’ve had in the dmv. The rice is perfection. Every time, the chicken in each dish we ordered was tender and flavorful. The garlic naan was delicious. Everything we’ve tried has been delightful. Our new favorite spot! This single photo doesn’t do it justice.

IndAroma catered our Indian fusion wedding and we had a fantastic experience with them from start to finish. Our tasting was probably our most fun date night leading up to the wedding and the team was so kind and willing to adapt the menu to fit our needs! The food hits everything you want to see in an Indian buffet while also adding creative and fun twists, making it super memorable (my husband and I specifically planned to be at our entire cocktail hour so we could eat all the apps haha).

Our wedding had guests from a variety of cultures and everyone loved the food — we heard compliments from my husband’s uncles (a high bar) on the post-ceremony lunch buffet, raving about the fusion apps from some of our friends, and everyone loved the fun dessert options.

Also, my sibling has Celiac’s disease and while I didn’t even see this at the wedding, they told me the team completely took care of them and made sure to get them a safe plate to eat. That warmed my heart because I really wanted to make sure everyone got to enjoy some food!

Service was excellent, food was on point, and IndAroma was probably one of the easiest vendors we worked with (super great at communication and clarity). They worked at a completely new-to-them venue for our wedding and from our perspective, it was seamless!

Dude, look at the oil in this subzi! You want customers to go to hospital with blocked arteries? I ate 2 spoons of this subzi and I couldn’t eat anymore.

I wouldn’t want to come back to this place. Truly unhealthy food. Sorry.

Great little spot for very tasty and authentic Indian food. Prices and portions are excellent. Started off with hot crispy samosas. Perfect potato masala filling and spice level. Seekh kebabs were moist and soft just like they should be. The medium spicy butter chicken is the best I’ve had in the area. It goes really well with their soft butter naan..finger lickin good Malabar shrimp had enough shrimp and was flavorful. Paneer tikka masala and garlic naan were also on point. Drove an hour to get here and they did not disappoint.

Had it delivered (it was extremely quick and efficient!) so I am unsure about the atmosphere. I will say the food was incredible. It is our new FAVORITE Indian take out restaurant in Alexandria! Highly recommend, especially the paneer and sweet potato dumplings in the tomato sauce!

Ok so I had starting going to Indaroma since month or a 2 now the food is really good but the staff suckssss only this one girl is nice and does know how to speak English and is really nice I think she just started working there but this one old lady in the front who takes all the order doesn’t know how to manage things and roles her eyes instead of cooperating with costumers and barely knows how to speak English. The only thing I’m going to say here is yall have to train those type of people how to deal with costumers and teach them some English, matter or fact let that girl nice girl be in the front and deal with costumers. Thank you.
