Located at Atherton Mill in Charlotte’s historic South End neighborhood, Indaco (Italian for “indigo”) serves Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant’s menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can seat approximately 85 guests inside for a casual night of food and drinks. The wine list is focused on affordable Italian varietals, the Gin & Tonic cocktail is on tap, and the fresh sodas are made in-house. Large windows fill the restaurant with natural light that reflects off the white subway tile, wood accents and butcher block tables.

I chose this place as a date since my partner loves Italian. A perfect choice I did make. Everything here was delicious and appealing to the eye. The service was great, our waiter checked on us often. Food came out quick and hot. I even had to reschedule my reservation and they were able to accommodate. I had actually been looking for a place with a 3-course meal option or tasting menu but they didn’t show that they had it online! I would have loved to try the 3 course meal! All in all, I loved it here and we will definitely be taking some time to go to the Atlanta location since we were on vacation here in Charleston.

Easy to set up a Saturday night reservation online. There’s parking in the garage across the street, so no problems there. The food and atmosphere was amazing and our server was great. The portions are not huge, but large enough to get completely full. Price wise it’s an okay deal, definitely more expensive than I expected but we will be back in the future.

Indaco has some great ambiance and the food is good. The staff are friendly and welcoming but are extremely slow and they disappear. They have trouble refilling drinks and checking in on you it seems. Our waiter just stood at the stand and then disappeared. It was quite impressive. He didn’t really check on us much and he was hard to find when we wanted to order dessert and more drinks. We were there for almost 3.5 hours not of our own choice and the kitchen did fine getting food out in a reasonable time. We just couldn’t get our server to acknowledge our existence most of the time. The food is good not amazing but good. Just expect to be here for a while and having to find your server for the check so you can leave.

Dining in at Indaco was the perfect cap to my weekend. The experience was nothing short of amazing. The hostess was warm as she welcomed the opening crowd for dinner service. I opted for a seat on the far wnd of the patio to soak up the sun. My server, Will, was the best being attentive, helpful with his recommendations and assistance throughout my dining experience. The manager stepped in to help the staff running food, which demonstrates the collaborative efforts of the staff.

The pizza on the happy hour menu was really good!( only $10). The pasta was really small portion given the price($28). The cocktails tasted a little watery. Overall a great place for a date night but I probably wouldn’t come back given the price and portion of the food.

I recently dined at Indaco and had a mixed experience. The waiter was amazing and provided excellent service. He was knowledgeable and answered all our questions perfectly, even though we were first-timers. The timing of our food was also spot on, which was great. The atmosphere and vibes at the restaurant were fantastic, and I especially enjoyed my drink, the Blue Monday.
