Bartender Anna? Super solid. Super nice and Super helpful. The drinks for what they are, incredibly expensive. I also tried to order 3 different things between drinks and food that were not available. So that was a bit off putting. However what we did get (2 tapas.. shrimp and cod croquettes.) Were absolutely amazing. Very much so a date spot and I couldn’t see it being a regular spot for me personally. Also only 2 beers in draft but a small selection of bottles.

I visited here over the weekend with a group of friends.it was a blustery rainy day. We met at the bodega, which is a little hard to find due to the signage.
Inside, it was lovely and warm. The waiter was personable and well informed. My friends were familiar with the restaurant and ordered for the table. The waiter offered to bring out the plates one or two at a time so that we would be able to enjoy the variety.
The food was absolutely incredible. I don’t remember everything we had, but I will not quickly forget the shrimp in garlic butter! We also had a charcuterie board, ham wrapped dates, a yellow rice dish and a few more items. It was so amazing that we were eating even when we were full. I am looking forward to making this a regular visit when I am in the Richmond area. I will be recommending this to many friends and family members. This bodega is one of the Richmond area restaurants that should not be missed!!

As someone from Valencia, Spain, I have to say this was hands down the most authentic Spanish restaurant I’ve ever tried in the U.S. The food truly feels like home. Every dish tasted just like it would back in Spain: real, traditional and 100% authentic.

The service was outstanding. They don’t rush you out the door and you can actually enjoy a proper Spanish style sobremesa, just like we do back home.

The wines and cocktails were exceptional as well, especially the Agua de Valencia, which was my favorite by far.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for genuine Spanish cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We will definitely be back to try the yummy food and drinks we didnt have room left to try! We wanted one of everything. Haha. We reserved roof top dining but the host/server so sweetly explained that it just wasn’t convenient for them at the moment. And being in the restaurant industry I thought to myself…I wouldn’t want to serve a 2 top on the 3rd floor of a restaurant either. It was just before the dinner rush and honestly I was just excited to be there. I hadn’t had authentic tapas in about 20 years!

Our server was wonderful. Guided us through the best tapas to order. And also kindly made sure we didnt over order food which I appreciated because I would have had he let me! When I asked for a pretty drink suggestion he brought me this super delicious drink with a Prosseco bottle. My next visit Im excited to try the smoked old fashioned that comes in a box!

We had a delicious charcuterie board, shrimp in a butter sauce, flambe chorizo, empanadas, potatoes with aioli…all wonderful. We even had to stop ourselves from ordering another round of empanadas. Lol.

And happy hour drinks came with a complimentary snack from the chef which was a nice Spanish touch! Also an example of how simple things done right are amazing! It was just bread with some sort of smear and smoked gouda on top served warm. We got a piece everytime we ordered a drink and our server asked us to just let him know if we dont want the complimentary snack at any point. Needless to say…that never happened. Lol. We ate every piece they sent our way!

Thank you for kicking off our date night in such an amazing way!

My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience here! He got the elderflower spritz and I got a sangria. We also ordered a few tapas (started digging in before snapping a photo because it all looked too good)! Everything was absolutely delicious. Drinks were perfectly made, the presentation of the food was beautiful, and service was outstanding! Perfect spot for a date night or just grabbing drinks and tapas with friends!! Will be back for sure!

This place is what Carytown needed! Off the beaten path from your typical wine and cocktail bar with an assortment of delicious Spanish tapas. We had a little bit of everything but there is definitely a lot more that we wanted to try. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a unique experience. They are also very accommodating for larger parties, the second floor is spacious with plenty of seating.

We finally found a wonderful Spanish tapas restaurant. We love the small plates from Spain and Portugal when we travel there and this restaurant takes us back. We ordered too much food but so worth it to try many items. The atmosphere is quaint and intimate, and the service was great and perfect how they didn’t rush sending out items but staggered them as we finished. The wine selection is excellent with great prices. This is going to become one our go to restaurants and is just what Richmond needs!

Went there for a special paella dinner hosted by the owner. A five course meal, each course, a culinary delight. I can’t wait to go back for their specialty: spanish tapas.

First of all, I am french. Being a neighbor of Spain, i know what true tapas are and it is exactly what we have in Importante.
I went there with friends and we ordered a couple of different dishes and wines. Portions are not huge but they are meant to be shared. It’s why it’s fun. We had spanish tortilla (potatoes omelette), pintxos Pan tumaca (bread with tomato and olive oil), Serrano ham and a plate of spanish cheeses (Oh boy! Their blue cheese Cabrales has some character! Delicious but not recommended for sensitive palates!)
One of my favorites are the patatas bravas (fried potatoes). Crispy outside, soft inside with the aioli sauce (garlic mayo) or their spicy home made sauce, it is simple but it makes the job!
And here comes the hidden gem of the menu! The Jamon Iberico Pata Negra! Maybe some people didn’t take it because of the high price ($35) but the truth is that we have here a Product of Exception! This ham is coming from spanish black pigs raised with chestnut or acorn. Ham is cured for up to 48 months. The process gives a rich nutty flavor with lingering taste in your mouth! And the pata negra means it is the black label, so the highest grade of the Jamon Iberico (spanish ham). It is basically what caviar is to fish eggs or A5 Waggyu is to beef… It is « la crème de la crème ». Export from Spain is limited and they are hard to find.
My very humble advice. Go with your family and friends! The dinner will go beyond food. With an adequate red spanish wine, you will get « Wow!! » or «Oh my God! » or « it stays in my mouth!! ». Then it becomes an experience, a memory you are sharing. For me, it will worth every penny
