I live down the street and I can’t believe it has taken me this long to try out this little gem. Part of this is because of the so-so reviews. Upon further inspection, a lot of the negative reviews were because the shop only accepts cash and they are so busy it can seem like the service is curt when calling to place an order. When we called, the person taking the order was efficient and we had no trouble. Plus, when we picked everything up, the food we ordered was delicious and fresh. May be the best Chinese takeout I’ve had in years! Well worth giving this place a try if you haven’t already. I’ve uploaded an updated menu with more recent prices.

We have been going to Imperial Wok for many years. The food is well seasoned and delish. The owner is friendly and remembers my name each time we visit. We moved to NC 6 years ago and everytime we come to CT to visit, we stop here to bring food back with us to NC. That’s how good it is.

This used to be the best Chinese food in town. I haven’t ate there in years and went to get some wings and fried rice and the prices were ridiculous, they went up on everything! $8 for 4 wings?! The wings were huge, rubbery, had black spots with broken bones. Which means they gave us abused wings and they tasted horrible, the rice was hard and tasted like plastic. I ate one wing and threw the rest out because they were so bad. I didn’t waste my time calling them or going back cause I know I wasn’t going to get my money back! I don’t know why they’re still in business!

I sent my son to get me something to eat and I was charged 29.00, for the roast pork egg foo young comb that comes with pork fried rice and egg roll. I also ordered 1 order of fried chicken wings and extra egg roll & bottle water. I feel I was over charged, will never go there again..

One of the best Chinese Food take outs in New Haven! Took a while for me to get my order but it’s understandable because they got tons of orders ahead. It’s worth it though because the food is great! I really love their Fried Chicken!

Great place to get some takeout Chinese. Most importantly these people could be seen in the kitchen and they all had on there mask in the right position. I also included a picture of the menu I noticed it could not be found anywhere. Price is right and food taste great and was very busy when I stopped to get my food. This is a must try hole in the wall type spot.

Love it so much. Food is amazing…My father Joseph said he’s been going here for 32 years so I had to check it out. Be respectful. The place is real busy. Wait your turn. Nobody forgot about you…it’s just that busy. Come with someone so someone can get out and get the food. Parking is not the greatest
