I come here every time I visit Chinatown. The dim sum and Cantonese dishes are very authentic, with reasonable prices and classic Hong Kong–style service—which means not the friendliest, but it honestly reminds me of home .
The dim sum is freshly steamed, and the tea is spot-on. You can come here for a proper sit-down meal or just stop by for a casual snack. Prices are fair, though during rush hour you might be seated at a smaller table (I’ve never had to wait in line, though).
You know it’s truly authentic when uncles and aunties are sitting around chatting and drinking tea, while servers push carts through the room with freshly made dishes.

Located on the second floor Chinatown square. Clean, very slow service and fairly priced for its portion. It wasn’t busy on a Saturday morning. Condiments and everything else Upon request. It’s hard to flag down a staff. We were halfway done until I went up asked about our stir fried dishes. Our waitress tells me they start to serve cook dishes at 10:30(there was no sign either regarding it either). Steamed beancurd rolls, pan-fried crisp bean curd rolls and shrimp dumplings flavored ok. Chiuchow dumpling with peanuts, siumai, chives dumplings, and beef tripes were the most flavorless I ever had. Dumplings wraps were very doughy. I understand the ingredients itself should have some sort of flavor even without any added seasonings.

Authentic Hong Kong style dim sum. It reminded me the tea houses we would visit in our daily life in Hong Kong. The quality of dim sum is exquisite. I would recommend this restaurant to you.

The décor feels like a traditional Hong Kong dim sum restaurant, classic banquet-style setup, no trendy redesign, no modern fusion menu. The dim sum selection isn’t huge, and it’s definitely not “Instagram modern,” but that’s exactly why I love it. It’s straightforward, traditional, and tastes like proper Hong Kong-style dim sum.
For dinner, it’s also my default choice whenever we’re craving Cantonese dishes done the right way. The standout for me is the sweet and sour pork, not the Americanized chop suey-style version, but the authentic Hong Kong preparation with the right balance of crisp coating, tangy glaze, and proper pork texture. In my opinion, it’s the best sweet and sour pork in all of Chinatown.

The food was great! The atmosphere was great. The man taking our order was very helpful. The lady refilling our drinks was kind. The only thing was the lady over seeing everything was constantly hovering over us and when we were talking about food she’d jump in our conversation and grab our menu and started telling us what we wanted. That was uncomfortable. But other than that the food was really good.

The restaurant was full. We registered our name to be called when a table became available. We only waited about 5 minutes & we were in.
The people were getting up from the table when we arrived. The table needed to be clean but the waiters & waitresses worked very fast. And in no time we were sitting & ordering already.

The Imperial is one of a kind when it comes to Asian dining. The staff hustle and the menu covers Asia. There are so many choices that it beckons your return. Just look at my pictures below from our dining experience.

The service here was unbelievably bad. It honestly matched every stereotype I’ve heard about rude service in some Hong Kong style restaurants. Yes, the food was good. I won’t lie about that. But the way I was treated made the whole experience miserable. Every time I asked for something, the server looked annoyed or rolled their eyes. If you hate your job that much, maybe it’s time to find a new one. I came to enjoy my meal, not to feel like a burden.
