My husband and I showed up at 4:30 on a Thursday afternoon. We were traveling back to Omaha and very hungry. So glad we passed the cafe in O’Neill Staff/owner was very friendly and accommodating. I eat gluten and dairy free and he had some helpful ideas and I ended up getting a salad without the flour tortilla and had rice instead. No cheese and no sour cream and it was delivered just as ordered. My husband loved his chimichanga! We don’t like really spicy food and it was perfect for us! The corn chips and mild salsa was the perfect added touch when we first sat down. We would highly recommend visiting this restaurant in Neligh or their other locations

I love this place and the people that work there. They do not get very many days off ! So if they are not up to your social standards it’s because they live there. That is their second home. I love that I can go there on a Sunday and not have to cook. It’s the only place other than gas station food that is available for dinner. I love the atmosphere! How thankful I am to have this place when it’s so minimal around this area to have a good restaurant to go to. Please treat the staff with respect. Everyone is struggling for survival these days. They don’t have to be there to serve you but they show up everyday.

We got there an hour before closing, which gave us enough time. But a woman employee kept talking on her phone as she pretended to be sweeping the floor. Then after she put down her phone she went at it in ernest. The interesting thing she ended up sweeping her pile of dirt next to our table and leaned the broom on the bar.(not quite sure if this was an indication to hurry up and finish eating or not) Then she got out her scrub bucket with whatever cleaners that she put in it. That was also while we were trying to finish and get out of there. We ended up getting to go boxes instead of eating all our meals. We were the last customers to leave, and maybe they wanted to close early. I can understand that because the restaurant business is really a lot of work. But please have some consideration for your customers and don’t sweep around their table and leave the dirt and broom within 3 feet. Then pick up your wet mop and do the same while people are eating. That’s just plain RUDE!!!
Lastly, when my wife paid the bill as a treat for me, the heavy bearded guy didn’t even thank her. I doubt if we’ll ever be back. They truly don’t have the customers in mind as the 1st Imperial Restaurant. They were more classy.

First of all, we did get there ONE hour before closing.
Second, I did read the local newspaper as I was waiting for my FOOD. Plus, I continued to read the local newspaper after my wife got her food first and started eating so it wouldn’t get cold, and I got mine about 10 minutes later. I’m surprised that a restaurant would serve a table with 2 people separately instead of the same time.
I noticed that you think sweeping and mopping around your customers is alright.
Now you LIED when you said I didn’t start eating until 10 pm your closing time. Since the help was cleaning, we actually hurried up to get out of there and took the remainder of our meal with us.
And we have the receipt stamped when we charged our meal, and it definitely wasn’t as you are saying it was. SIR, we didn’t purposely try to hold you up from closing your restaurant. And you know that. So WHO isn’t telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Seriously, you should have just let my comment go by the wayside instead of challenging me on my memory and what I did. AND AGAIN, WE NEVER COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS WHEN WE WERE THERE. AND YOU NEVER SAID “THANK YOU, PLEASE COME BACK AGAIN.” OR EVEN JUST THANK YOU OR THANKS.

We will never return service was terrible we had a person join us after we ordered and they brought her a menu and never came back to take her order plus we had a drink and I got straight water with no vodka I asked for the worst also we told her there would be a 4th one coming and she ignored it even if we ordered before she got there but shouldn’t matter if she was running late they still should have come over to see if she wanted to order but I get why she didn’t and I’m told the kid isn’t the owner his dad is and I’m sure he wouldn’t have tolerated that as I’m told

Takeout Street Tacos had a generous amount of steak per shell but the meat was dry, tough and flavorless with a minimal amount of onion topping, and no salsa or anything to liven them up. Unfortunately this was not learned until I was back at my hotel with my styrofoam clamshell…

The food was delicious. The place is clean. They have burgers and chicken fingers for those who don’t like Mexican food. The salad was great for something lighter. It’s a nice spot for such a small town. We have one in our group with a gluten allergy. They did not know what was or was not GF, so that was a downer. It’s not fun to go out to eat, not knowing if you will or won’t get sick.

I ordered a fiesta shrimp nachos to go. This time, it was nothing compared to the last two times I ordered it. The first two times, it was superb and a pleasure to eat, but the last one was just bland and mushy. It might have been because of a snowstorm and a lack of fresh ingredients.
